Well, when you see those evil- whirlygig plants throwing red fruit bombs on you, a backward blow might just sting your aggression all the more. And moreover, it's supposed to be a floral island. Detailed Layout of Steamworks Island
Entering the Island
There happens to be four major sections to the Steamworks Island:
- Clockwork Cantina, Trash Bin, The Center and Museum and the Gear Shop.
- On the left are scenes of Sully's Paraphernalia & the Living Quarters building.
- On the right is the Hub of the Universe and last is the
- Drawbridge to the Botanical Research Laboratory.
In Mayor Crumb's Office
Here in, you will find a large portrait of Mayor Crumb and Captain Ziggs where the only item important to fetch is the message displayed in the typewriter with a number 516. Next, you will enter:
Into the Museum
You will have to raise the arm of the machine and climb the vines to get to the Dirty Beaker and from there the next scene is:
Living Quarters and Sully's Shop
Once you enter this zone of the game, you will need to raise the left side lever arm by making the character jump on it which will take you to another doorway revealing the Sully's Key. Collect the key and use the Steam Battery which you had collected earlier to proceed further into the island. Next stage is:
The Hub of The Universe
There are water pipes inside this zone which has monster plants all inside them. Also there are 3 series of tilt mazes which helps to restore power to the Hub elevator. Climb the elevator and press on the lever which is on the right side. This will take you to the next level, i.e., Captain's Quarters. Once you enter this Captain Quarter's zone ride the mini-vators and reach the bedroom level. There will be a rotatory dial below a portrait, feed in the numbers 516 and enter a secret passage where you will find the skeleton of Captain Ziggs lying on the floor. Also, on your left there'll be a Bridge Key and Mech Weed Whacker. You will need to get out of the Hub and cross the Drawbridge carefully which will again take you to another zone of a Research facility and later on to another room full of Mixed Giant and Monster plants. Mix the herbicide in an empty dirty breaker in right amounts: 4 parts red, 3 blue and 2 green and fight your way out facing all those horrifying monsters. Later when you finish fighting the monsters in the Mech Walker and Whacking Weeds zone, you will realize you are moving towards the ultimate battle.
The Final Battle
This is the last part of the game wherein, three identical horrifying monsters with a pool of acid rise from beneath the ground. Well, this your ultimate battle, so to play Steamworks Island on Poptropica depends on how you conquer these 3 evil monsters. You will have to hit the first monster three times and destroy him completely. Next, you will have to jump to the level above you and strike the second monster by shooting firearms at it from a very close distance which will knock him off, thereafter. With this take, you finally move on to the third and the last monster who shoots caterpillar-like bombs as well as missiles. You have to fight your way out with the firearms you have, and knock his head 3 times consecutively. This is where you win the game and automatically return to the chamber where Mayor crumb gives the Island Medallion as a token. Well, this way the whole adventure on Steamworks Island ends. I am sure you want to discover the game all by yourself which makes you go ahead and play it right away, isn't it?!
Honestly, this is just the start of the adventure. All the fun and excitement is sure to come ahead. The game is a big mystery. You can call it a labyrinth island.
