Confidence is the key to all virtues in life and we all have often dealt with issues related to lack of self-confidence. To develop it, we must realize that self realization of our powers is the first step towards building self-confidence. An ocean of confidence lies within all of us. All we've got to do is to tap the hidden potential in our personality. We help you with simple tips on being confident in this article.

Ways to Be Confident
To gain self-confidence, you've got to believe in yourself and eliminate the root cause of disbelief in your own abilities.
Do Your Best, Don't Be Afraid of Criticism!
Many of us give too much weightage to what others think about us. The fact however is that if you're thinking too much about what others will think of your next step in life, you may never be able to progress. Everyone is just so much obsessed with their own selves, that it's difficult to judge and understand other person. Our life decisions must not be made under peer pressure. Choose your work according to your abilities. No matter what you do, do it with your full heart. Don't think about criticism. People speak anyway, even if you do something, or you don't! This is the first fundamental of how to be more confident: Do your best, leave the rest!
Just Do it!
Over thinking and over analysis in life takes away too much of the time and postpones important decisions. Make it a habit to finish the task at hand, without any procrastination. A work finished, no matter how small it is, develops self-confidence and improves your time management skills.
Find Your USP!
Yeah, it matters, matters to the core. A major fraction of our day is spend in doing our work. Your professional life especially in this era of globalization influences your confidence. So, choose a career that you're passionate about. Find one thing that you're very strong at. Develop your career around that. If you find yourself very creative and buzzing with ideas, then explore marketing, advertising and arts streams. Choose your career keeping in mind your strengths. Remember, you may not become very popular or earn millions but you'll be good enough to lead a happy and satisfied life. If you love what you do, you've found a perennial source of happiness.
Face the Fear Head On!
Fear is the worst form of mental blockage. Try to face your fears head on, fight and win over them. There is no other way to deal with it. One of my friends, for instance disliked mathematics in her childhood and she was afraid of even studying it. Once she took it as a challenge and started enjoying it, she moved on to do a postgraduate in mathematics! Facing the fear is a great way to learn, 'how to be more confident'. Remember, instilling confidence in children is more about making them believe in their abilities. Give them options of trying 'n' number of things - studies, sports, music, dance, painting etc. Eventually, they will know what they love and you would be surprised how confident they will be in tackling life issues.
Gradually, when you start implementing several self-improvement plans and practicing various self-confidence building exercises, you'll be able to realize that confidence was always within you and just had to work towards awakening it. Remember, positive thinking and positive attitude can make a world of difference in helping you to get closer to your self-confidence.
PS: Besides the above all ways of developing your confidence, don't underestimate the value of building healthy relationships. Make some everlasting bonds with people who are really close to you, in your life. Your group of friends, your family members and some very close people in your life, love them to the core and take their help and advice when you flunk in life. Remember, we all have highs and lows in life. That is inevitable. But don't let them affect your self-esteem. Have fun, stay healthy and love life. Eventually, you'll see life has a brighter side and you're confident in tackling it.
