How to be Healthy
To become healthy, you have to give up a little, and give in a little. Find out how to be healthy, to lead a positive, happy and disease-free lifestyle.

What Does it Mean to Be Healthy?
A lot of people are under the misconception that being healthy is being thin. This however, is a completely wrong view about health. As long as you have physical and mental strength and endurance, you will be considered healthy. Good health defines a complete state of well-being, both physical and mental. Mental well-being is usually what most people ignore, thinking that it has nothing to do with the concept of health. However, as times change people are becoming more aware of a stress-free mind, and how a positive mind can impact your whole lifestyle. Yes, the definition of being healthy is that simple. You feel good, mentally, and physically.
How to Be Healthy and Fit
You know the basic rules of being healthy, eat right, exercise, etc. Here, we reiterate the rules so that you know how important these factors are in achieving good health.
Stop Being Lazy
The first step towards good health is to overcome laziness. We procrastinate, and don't do a lot of things, simply because we 'don't feel like it'. This attitude is not going to get you anywhere in life, and it won't work even if you're trying to become healthy.
Sleep
Coming right after a whole speech on overcoming laziness, you may not take this one seriously. But don't stop here. Understand that getting a good amount of sleep is what keeps you going. It keeps you positive, you develop an alert state of mind, and you are fresh and ever ready to take on different activities throughout the day. Give up those late nights, and follow a healthy sleeping pattern. Understand the importance of sleep, and use this knowledge to build your body to develop the fitness it needs to function well.
Eat
This is not permission for you to grab that bag of chips. You have to learn how to start eating healthy. Skip processed foods high in food additives and low in nutrition. It does take a little effort to whip up a healthy meal, but it is not impossible, and you shouldn't skip it simply because you don't have the time. Make the time because nothing is more important than your health.
Maintain Dental Health
When it comes to overall well-being, why should your dental health and hygiene be ignored? Keep your teeth healthy to prevent any diseases of the mouth. For this, you must give up, or at least cut down on your smoking habits if you have any. Floss daily, use a good mouthwash, and keep the sweets at bay. Doing so will serve a dual purpose of keeping you healthy, and saving your teeth from decay. Visit a dental health professional on a regular basis to maintain your beautiful smile (and the ability to eat well).
Exercise
Another important key to healthy living is to get a good dose of exercise. Take the time out to get at least 30 minutes of exercise three times a week. Do any kind of exercise you like. Whether it is the fast pace of dance and aerobics that you enjoy, or the steady pace of yoga exercises, the choice is yours. Any type of physical activity is useful in helping you achieve your goal. Also, try to take the stairs instead of the lift, do some chores around the house, spend time gardening (if you have a garden), walk your kids to school if it is close, walk to work, and perform other such physical activities that will give you the necessary daily dose of exercise. Remember, as much as these physical activities are essential, sticking to a proper regimen of exercises is equally essential as all your energy is directed towards exercising at that point. This is also one of the key rules to remain healthy even during pregnancy. Though rest is essential, you must get some amount of exercise and remain active while you are pregnant, to ensure the delivery of a healthy baby.
Meditate
For the purpose of keeping your mind healthy and free of stress, you must spend some time in meditation. Start by keeping your mind clutter-free for just ten minutes, and gradually increase the time period. Meditating will calm your mind, will help you with positive thinking, and will allow you to think clearly and rationally. Stress can wreak havoc with your body, both mental and physical. Keep it under control; no amount of stress is worth the trouble you are putting your body through, and ultimately, you are going to have to face what you are meant to face. Keep calm and live in the moment.
Remember, once you are healthy, you are bound to feel beautiful from within, and that beauty will radiate and show on your face. Don't ignore your body; it is the only, and the best tool you have at your disposal (that you can modify to your liking), to live a good life.
