How Good Are Bose 301 Speakers?

Regardless of the system you own if the speakers are not good the best recording encoded on the storage device and played by amplifier will be awful. Bose speakers a brand recognized for great sound quality.
When you look for bookshelf speakers, what do you actually want? Good looking speakers? Or speakers that sound good? Or perhaps, both?

First consider how big your room is? If its small-to-medium in its dimensions, Bose 301 should work well in it, as dispersion of sound is a major factor in helping you decide on the best speakers.

These speakers are sold on the premise of "anywhere sound". In other words, you can enjoy the sound, equally, regardless of where in the room you are located.

Hence, you have to see whether there’s enough room to be able to position the speakers a little distance from the walls, so as to allow the music to "bounce".

They are a little larger than conventional bookshelf speakers, so don’t expect to actually place them, on your bookshelf. You may need to mount them on stands, insuring that they are at ear level, when you are in your normal listening position.

Coming back to sound quality, the stereo imaging of these speakers could be better, as it gets submerged, a bit, in the process of delivering "anywhere sound". However, these speakers are designed to be stand alone stereo systems, as opposed to many speakers, in the market, that are intended to add to existing systems. The bass is punchy, though a bit weak at lower frequency levels. Treble is a bit shrill, and the "retro look" of the speakers isn’t to everybody’s tastes. The paper cones in the speakers might displease the fastidious music buff.

For best effect, use a sub-woofer of 150 watts or over, and an amplifier that delivers 200 watts, per channel.

The Bose brand is recognized all over the world. From an esthetic standpoint, these are not the most visually appealing speakers; however, they offer great value, given their moderate price tag, and the great sound quality they deliver.
