How Does Electrolysis Remove Unwanted Hair?

Most people are amazed to learn that electrolysis was invented in England in the late 1800s by an optometrist named Dr. Charles Michel. Even more amazing is the fact that a little over 125 years later, electrolysis is still the only proven method to permanently remove unwanted hair!
You may find this statement hard to believe because you have tried all of the other "permanent hair removal" treatments that claim miraculous hair removal and they failed to meet your expectations. Electrolysis is different because there is scientific proof of its effectiveness, and it really does work!
How Electrolysis Works
The electrolysis process begins when an extremely fine needle, called a probe, is inserted into the hair follicle. You will not feel pain or experience bleeding because the probe is thinner than the actual hair itself and does not come in contact with blood vessels or nerves in your skin.
When the probe has been inserted into the follicle a small electrical current travels from the tip of the probe into the hair follicle. The electrologist tests the hair to see if it releases by giving the hair a gentle tug with the tweezer. If the hair does not release, the electrolysis process will be repeated until the unwanted hair can be easily removed. You should never feel the hair being pulled out by tweezing. If the hair is tweezed, the electrolysis treatment will not be successful.
Electrolysis is an effective process, but unwanted hair does not go from being thick to disappearing. It is very normal for a hair to come back a few times and become finer each time until it disappears altogether. When a hair doesn’t appear for more than 3 months after electrolysis; it will never come back again.
In electrolysis treatment, the electrical current cannot leave the probe and travel by itself through the hair follicle, because hair follicles cannot conduct a current. A few electrolysis treatments may be necessary to fully remove unwanted hair because the probe cannot always reach the tip of the follicle on the first treatment. Each time a follicle is treated, it straightens out gradually until it is straight enough for the probe to reach the tip of the follicle and for the electrical current to "seal off" the root. When this occurs, the unwanted hair will be gone forever.
Beware of the miracle hair removal methods which claim their electronic tweezers grasp the hair and kill the root of the hair. This is impossible because hair cannot conduct an electrical current. These methods are a waste of time and money. Remember that if it seems too good to be true it probably is.
