How Do You Get Pregnant
How to get pregnant or what are the easiest ways to conceive, is something that keeps lingering in the minds of most women who are planning to extend their family.

How do You Get Pregnant Quickly
Knowing When You're Most Fertile
Your fertility period is based on an intricate series of events. Every month hormones in your pituitary gland stimulate the ovaries to release an egg, which once released gradually travels to one of the fallopian tubes. This is the time when you are most fertile or in other terms you are ovulating. Now to calculate when your ovulation period starts you need to keep a track on your menstrual cycle. If you have a regular 28 days menstruation, ovulation is most likely to start about 14 days after the day your last period began. However, if you have irregular or long menstrual cycles due to stress, illness or exercise, deduct 18 from the number of days in your shortest cycle. And when your next period begins, count ahead by this many days; it will give you an estimate regarding your most fertile days.
Notice Changes in Your Cervical Mucus
An increase in clear, slippery vaginal discharges, typically resembling a raw egg white, is a clear indication of an impending fertility. The white discharge becomes more slippery and plentiful just before ovulation, in order to help the sperm reach the egg. You can check your cervical mucous, by rubbing some toilet paper or your fingers over the opening of the vagina, and then examining the color and consistency of the mucous. Or if you're comfortable with it, you can also observe the position of your cervix by inserting two fingers, and feeling the end of the cervix. If it's hard and dry, you are not ovulating as during ovulation, the cervix shifts a little higher and is more soft and moist.
Recording Your Basal Body Temperature
Basal body temperature is the body's temperature when it is fully at rest. Ovulation usually causes a slight increase in this temperature and your fertility is at its peak during two to three days before your basal temperature rises. Therefore, if you keep a track on your month to month patterns, i.e. when the basal temperature rises, you can estimate the best time to conceive.
Use an Ovulation Prediction Kit
Over the counter ovulation prediction kit works by testing your urine for the surge in hormones that occurs before ovulation. Although it is a bit expensive, by following the instructions properly it can provide the most accurate results.
Tips to Get Pregnant Fast
When you're trying to conceive, consider these simple tips on how to get pregnant fast.
- Discontinue Birth Control Measures: Stop using any birth control pills or methods, as some methods have a longer readjustment period even after stopping than others and also the woman's body takes time to be ready again to conceive.
- Regular Sex: Make sure you have sex at least once in a day, especially when you are ovulating, as this increases the odds of conception. Also, practice loving making in missionary position i.e. man on top. You can also keep a pillow under hips and avoid getting up at least for half an hour after sex, as this will enable the sperms to swim smoothly up to the egg.
- Healthy Lifestyle: Maintain a healthy lifestyle by including physical activity in your daily routine, eating a healthy and balanced diet and keeping your weight and stress under control, as such good habits will serve you and your baby well during pregnancy.
- Vitamin Intake: Ensure that you take vitamin supplements regularly, especially folic acid, as it is vital for baby's proper development. Also, having a daily prenatal vitamin or folic acid supplement a few months before conception can significantly minimize the risks of spina bifida and other neural tube disorders.
- Stop Smoking and Drinking: Quit smoking and drinking, as they can keep the sperms from reaching the egg and can also cause abnormal changes in the cervical mucus. Moreover, after conceiving smoking can also increase the risk of miscarriage and can deprive your developing baby of oxygen and nutrients.
