Housemates (Chapter 9)

Thank you for all the comments on my chapters.
I watched as Shane ran out into the moonlight and then into the forest. He was searching for his best friend. "Hey what's going on?" Lucas asked from the doorway. I turned and saw him still looking perfect in his black suit.

"Alec is missing," I told him. He stared at me expressionless. "I'll go and search town," he said, his voice and face giving nothing away. I was surprised and grateful. "Thank you Lucas," I told him. He smiled and then disappeared in a rush of air.

I perched on the kitchen counter with a cup of hot tea. My mind was overworked, worrying about Alec and where he was. I heard footsteps and my head turned towards the doorway. My mind instantly jumped to the conclusion of Alec or his Father, but it wasn't.

"What are you doing here?" I asked in an outraged growl. Sophia looked at me, her smile was bad girl perfection. "Don't get feisty, you wouldn't win in a fight with me," she teased. "What are you doing here?" I repeated. "Seems you're home alone," she commented. I glared at her, my eyes pooled with hatred for this women.

"I just came to collect some things," she smiled, then she sped off with vampire speed. I jumped off the counter and followed her upstairs, she was in Alec's room. She was gathering his stuff together. "What are you doing," I screeched. She turned to me with a smirk.

"You know where he is?" I demanded of her. Her smirk grew wider. "Where?" I pleaded. "He's with me, he's perfectly safe," she assured. "You took him, not his Dad," I gasped. "His Dad's nowhere to be found, my guess is he killed himself," Sophia shrugged.

"Why do you want Alec?" I frowned. "I made a deal with him, no one else knows about it, not even Lucas. Alec believed you could be happy with Lucas so he gave himself to me in return for Lucas being let off the hook for marrying me and changing you into a vampire if he marries you," Sophia told me. "Why Alec?" I whispered loudly.

"He's important in the werewolf species, a valiant, strong-headed warrior, he's never killed though, but we'll soon change that," she smiled. "You're marrying him?" I asked. She nodded. "It's good to have relations with wolves," she smiled.

I choked and stared at her. "Please, I'll do anything, just don't take him," I begged. "He gave himself freely and he did it for you, shouldn't you be grateful," she spat. "Plus he's making sure you don't become a vampire unless you choose," Sophia shrugged.

"Can I speak to him?" I asked, it came out as a whisper, barely heard. "No," she snapped immediately. "Please," I whined. She looked at me pitifully. I glared at her and my fists clenched, my anger bubbling over. "You can't just take him," I warned. She grinned and winked. "Oh watch me," she cried. With thinking my hand reached out, grabbing the silver pen knife from the draw in Alec's bedside table.

I knew he kept it there in case someone came for him in his sleep, even though I hadn't known Alec to ever have enemies. I picked it up and threw it straight at Sophia's chest. She was surprised and didn't see it coming even with her reflexes. It hit her right in the heart and a hiss escaped her lips before she started to scream in agony.

I watched horrified, unable to move to help her or run away. Her body started to get engulfed by flames and my eyes widened as she burnt away, leaving no trace of her existence. I stood there, breathing heavily and staring at the patch on which she'd just been stood.

I reached a hand through my hair, gasping for breath. A creak sounded in the doorway and I turned around, too fast and too nervous for my own good. "What have I done?" I asked in a whisper as Alec stood in the doorway.

He watched me, trying to suss out what was wrong then looked around the room. He spotted the silver knife lying on the floor. "Serena," he said softly and I stepped backwards into the wall. "I killed her, I killed her," I gasped.

He stood in front of me, stroking my cheek soothingly. "Alec, do you hate me?" I asked him. He shook his head and then I fell into his arms, sobbing with utter relief and clutching him too tightly. He stroked my hair, holding me equally tight.

"You gave yourself for me, for my mortality," I sobbed. He just squeezed me tighter. I buried my head in his chest and he wiped away my last tears. "I didn't want it to go this way," he sighed as he sat me on the edge of the bed and he crouched down to my eye level.

"I'm sorry," I breathed. "This isn't your fault, but goodness knows why you can't stay away from trouble, it would be easier if the three of us all left you alone," he smiled, but it didn't reach his eyes. "Alec," I started but he gently lowered his lips to mine in a breathtaking kiss.

He pulled away and rested his forehead against mine. "I did it for you because I love you, and I would make every sacrifice in the world for your happiness. I've never been selfish before Serena but I have to tell you that, I want you. I don't want the others to have you, I want you to be mine," he told me. I leaned forward and pressed another small kiss to his lips.

"I'm so confused," I muttered. "You have every right to be," he replied. I pulled away then, irritated. "You're always so reasonable, your request wasn't selfish it was truthful. Alec you deserve an awful lot more than me, you don't realize how perfect you are, if you want something then demand it, you never think about yourself, so think," I cried. He looked at me surprised and then laced his fingers in my mine.

He pulled me up into a standing position against his body. "Fine, I'll make my demands," he said and then he lowered his lips to mine again. The kiss was longer, steamier and much hotter. I pulled away with a moan. "I want you to beg for my touch, my kiss, I want you all to myself. I want every inch of you to be mine," he whispered, his words sent a thrill through my body.

"I get jealous I can just restrain my feelings unlike Shane," he whispered at my ear before he kissed it, then he trailed his tongue down to my neck, where he nipped at it, before soothing the sting of his teeth with his hot tongue.

I felt my body gasping for breath again. My eyes seemed to close and my fingers scraped into his long black hair. "Kiss me," escaped my lips and he did.

I noticed something out the corner of my eye and turned to the doorway, my breath heavy. Shane stood there, grim and moody.

"Lucas is dead," he spat.
