Housemates (Chapter 1)
This is a new story I'm starting, I hope you enjoy. This one involves the supernatural and romance.
"What is your problem, really what is your problem?" I asked sternly, then I burst into a fit of giggles, smothering my mouth with a palm. "You're drunk, Serena." Alec sighed as he slipped his arms under me. "Where are you taking me?" I sung.
He ignored me and slipped me in the front seat of his blacked out Jeep. I started fiddling with the radio as he drove. "S, leave it alone," Alec snapped. I stuck my tongue out at him and played with the window, winding it up and down and up and down. "Serena," Alec shouted. I bit my lip, like a guilty puppy.
"I feel sick." I moaned, putting a hand to my forehead. "We'll be home in one second." He complained, the car halted to a stop and I pushed open the door and puked onto the pavement. I heard Alec's groan and he ran round, pulling my hair from my face.
I unsteadily fell out the car and Alec caught me, passing the puke and helping me to the front door. He got out his keys and unlocked it, keeping one supportive arm around me.
As soon as the door swung opened we were faced with Lucas. He stood, tall, strong and pale. Alec trembled beside me as he let me stumble forward and he closed the front door.
I giggled at Lucas' face and he watched me, expressionless. I tripped to the floor and lay sprawled out, laughing. "What the hell, I let you take her out, and you bring her back, drunk," Lucas spat at Alec. "It wasn't my fault, she just likes the drink." Alec said miming tipping a bottle of beer down his throat.
I sat up and put on a beaming smile. "Hey Lucas, shouldn't you be in bed?" I asked. Then I burst out laughing at my own joke. "He doesn't sleep, remember," I prompted Alec. He sighed and rolled his eyes at me, begging me not to make this any harder for him.
I pushed myself up into a wobbly standing position and stared at the two boys. "There's still puke outside," I reminded Alec, then I headed to the stairs. "You are not taking her anywhere again, I mean it." Lucas snarled. "Look I didn't mean too get her wrecked." Alec pleaded.
"What's going on?" Asked a sleepy voice. I looked up the staircase and saw Shane, frowning down at us. His light brown hair was messy and his gray eyes were hooded. I looked from him to Shane, comparing. The problem was Lucas always looked perfect. Jet black curls, liquid coal colored eyes and the physique of an athlete, probably a boxer.
"Hey Shandy," I greeted him, in a slur. "Woah man, did you get her smashed," Shane laughed, looking from me to Alec. I yawned and rested my head on the stairs. "I'll get her into bed." Shane grinned, before he could get to me I was already in Lucas' arms with vampire speed.
I felt dizzy as we arrived at my bed and he set me down gently under the covers, tucking them around me. He sighed as he gazed down at me. "What?" I asked sleepily. "You really are something." He told me, leaning down and brushing a kiss across my lips. I giggled and my eyes started to close. Then the darkness washed over me.
"I hate you," I said between chokes. Alec was holding back my hair as I puked into the toilet. "I told you to stop," he hissed. "You are idiot," I cried, before I coughed up again. He looked like he hadn't slept a wink, his green eyes bloodshot, and his bright blonde hair was tainted with grease.
I groaned as I pulled away from the toilet and leant back against the wall. "It really wasn't my fault." Alec said crossing his arms across his chest. I shot him a glare and put a hand to my head. "How's the hung over one?" Shane laughed as he appeared in the doorway. "Shut up," I managed to snap.
"I made you breakfast if you want it?" He offered. "I can't get up, I feel sick and dizzy." I told him. "Don't worry, I'll eat it," he smiled, saluting me and then taking off.
"You don't mind if I get a quick breakfast?" Alec asked with a grimace. "Go, leave me." I said dramatically. He took off after Shane and I sighed at my best friends.
We'd been living together for a year now, I was eighteen. Shane and Alec were both nineteen and Lucas two hundred and three, but he looked twenty. He'd been my boyfriend for six months whereas the boys had been my best friends since I was five.
Shane and Alex were both werewolves, I'd found this out at the age of twelve. "Morning," said a deep voice. I looked to see Lucas taking up the doorway, looking like a marble statue. I gave a meek smile. "Don't think I'm letting you off the hook, you're to blame the same as Alec, I just couldn't shout at you last night since you were so drunk." He growled.
I put on my best guilty smile and he narrowed his eyes, crouching down in front of me. "You know I could take the pain away," he stated. A ray of hope. "Please," I begged. He smirked, standing back up. "But you need to learn a lesson," he smiled, as he walked away.
I groaned and rested my head on my knees. During midday I felt better and managed to make it downstairs to the sofa, where I had a cup of tea and watched a movie with Alec. "We're going to stock up the fridge," Shane called, as he and Lucas left the house.
I yawned and curled up under Alec's arm. "You feeling better now?" He asked me. I shrugged. "You are idiot." He told me fondly. "That's what I'm known for," I joked. He rolled his eyes and yawned as well. My eyes started to flicker. "I'm so tired," I moaned as I curled up into a tighter ball.
"I'm with you there, babe." Alec agreed, closing his own eyes. We both fell into a deep sleep and I awoke up half way through the night. I sat up and looked over at Alec, he had his mouth wide open and was snoring heavily.
I giggled and stood up, heading into the kitchen. I jumped as I saw a figure by the window. It was Lucas, he was flicking through an old, dusty looking novel. "Hey," I said quietly, so as not to wake Alec. "Hey, there's leftovers in the fridge," he said, knowing exactly what I was looking for. I pulled open the fridge and heated up homemade lasagna.
I watched Lucas as he read, his eyes darting down the page, his whole face full of concentration. "Don't you get bored, of not being able to just relax and sleep?" I asked. "I can relax, I don't have to sleep to do that." He told me, not raising his eyes from the book.
I contemplated this as I ate and once I'd finished, I grabbed his hand. "How about we do something?" I asked. "At this time?" He asked skeptically. "Yeah, let's go for a walk on the beach?" I begged. He shook his head. "You have school in the morning." He warned. "Oh please Lucas?" I pleaded.
"No," he told me, stubborn as ever. I sighed and hoisted myself onto the kitchen counter. There was a pile of letters beside me and I picked one up. It was addressed to Lucas. I looked over at him, but he was engrossed in his book, so I tore open the letter.
It had a red seal on it and the letter was handwritten, in beautiful looping font. I started to read it and I frowned. "You are to be married." I gasped, looking up. In a flash Lucas had ripped the letter from my grasp.
I stared at him in total shock. "I'm a Prince, of course my Father wants to arrange a marriage for me," he muttered. I slipped off the counter. "Thanks for warning me, thanks for telling me about all this." I snapped sarcastically.
"Oh Serena, please don't be like this, you know I love you." He cried, grabbing my hand and pulling me back to face him. "That may be so, but you haven't told me your'e not going to marry this girl," I spat. He raised his eyebrows. "Just tell me, is she a vampire?" I asked. He nodded. "A princess?" I questioned. He nodded.
I tore my hand out his grasp and ran from the room. He kept appearing in front of me with vampire speed as I ran to my room. He finally ended up outside my door, stopping me from going inside. "Go away," I cried, wiping my eyes. "You have to listen to me." He begged. "Please, leave me alone Lucas," I said.
He moved out of the way slowly and I went into my room. Lucas made to follow but I slammed the door in his face, I knew he could easily break it down but I knew he probably didn't want to deal with my aggravation. I curled up on my bed, hugging my pillow close to me. He was to be married, to some beautiful vampire princess.
I growled deep in my throat and then closed my eyes. Wishing someone would stake the future Mrs. Lucas Jenson.
He ignored me and slipped me in the front seat of his blacked out Jeep. I started fiddling with the radio as he drove. "S, leave it alone," Alec snapped.
