Esentepe

Esentepe is a beautiful coastal village which provides stunning views out across the Mediterranean. Peaceful, tranquil and a haven for retirees, Esentepe offers a home for those looking for a slower pace of life. With the hot summer sun beating down upon the village, residents are thankful for the cool sea breezes that roll in off the Mediterranean, making it a comfortable as well as picturesque location.

Most of the essentials can be found in Esentepe to make it a realistic place to relocate, including a number of shops, a school and even a police station. However, it is the peace and tranquility that it offers that appeals to the potential property buyer above all else.

The Kyrenia mountain range provides a stunning backdrop, and the sandy beaches are perfect for relaxing in the sun. Esentepe really is the ideal choice for people who want to escape it all, and it is a world away from some of the larger towns and cities in the region.

Lapta

There are two entirely different sides to Lapta, and people wanting to buy a property in Northern Cyprus have a choice of either. Popular with tourists, Lapta is similar to Esentepe in that it offers both long, sandy beaches and spectacular mountain scenery, but it is far more built up than Esentepe. Kyrenia

Kyrenia is without a doubt the most popular place for tourists in Northern Cyprus. Much bigger than Lapta and Esentepe, Kyrenia consists of an Old Town and a New Town, both of which offer very different characteristics.

Everything that people would expect to find in a town is found in Kyrenia, from banks and shops to restaurants and nightclubs. Tourists usually take some time out to explore the harbour, a stunning area where people choose to stroll peacefully or enjoy the numerous bars and cafés on offer.

Kyrenia is the perfect location for an investment property catering for the tourists who flock here every year. However, for those who would prefer to live in a larger city with a greater number of amenities, and yet still enjoy the great weather of Northern Cyprus, Kyrenia is a fantastic option.

Other Options

Another two options, which are not as popular as the aforementioned settlements but are good possibilities nonetheless, are Famagusta and North Nicosia.

Famagusta is an ancient town in the east of the country, with its origins reaching right back to the 3rd century BC. Its long history is one of its main appeals, and it is a popular tourist spot. If buying a property here, there are plenty of tourists to rent to, but many of them actually choose to stay in one of the nearby resorts and make daytrips to the town, so that could be an option as well.

Nicosia is divided into the Turkish northern half and the Greek southern half. However, for those people who are EU citizens it is possible to cross between the two halves with ease if carrying a passport. The northern side is a real tourist attraction, and the city is packed full of historical buildings and hammams, as well as having wonderful shopping possibilities.
