Horn of Africa History, Colonial Plans, and the Outrageous Forger Mammo Muchie – Part V
The Horn of Africa Conference contributes to the colonial plans aiming at the formation of a vast tyrannical, colonial empire spanning from Egypt’s southern border to the coast of Kenya, named ‘Coptic Republic of Ethiopia’.
We then focused on an incredible and absolutely fallacious article of bogus-historical contents published as support of the aforementioned conference by Mammo Muchie (‘Unite the people from the Red Sea to the Indian Ocean’ / http://www.sudantribune.com/spip.php?article23512). In the present article, we will continue uncovering the fraudulent presentation of Eastern African History by Mammo Muchie in his article’s main part. The fact that the error analysis has become so long underscores the extraordinary character of the historical distortion of that article.

To help the reader, we will first publish the part of the text that is left to be commented (‘Myth of Origin’, part of Mammo Muchie’s article ‘Unite the people from the Red Sea to the Indian Ocean’) , and then its refutation. Numbers encrusted in Mammo Muchie’s text refer to points of refutation. The first fifty (50) points have been already refuted and discussed analytically, so we will start with point 51.
Myth of Origin (Unite the people from the Red Sea to the Indian Ocean) by M. Muchie
"…………………………………………………………………………………. and appealed to God to restore their unity at some possible time in the future. 50 That prescient insight by emperor Menelik has nothing to do with a colonial project. 51 It has everything to do with redressing great power imperial and colonial injustice 52 visited upon not only on the people from the Red Sea to the Indian Ocean, but also Africa from the Mediterranean to the Indian and Atlantic Oceans. 53
In Ethiopia those who have legitimate demands to decentralise the states of the region particularly in Ethiopia by localising authority at the grassroots 54 by devolving power and empowering ordinary citizens 55 went overboard and created false ideologies 56 of Ethiopia as a’ colonial’ power. 57 This thesis has been loosely spread by books such as Addis Hiwot’s From Autocracy to Revolution, London, published by the Review of African Political Economy group, 1975, Bereket Habte Selassie, Conflict and Intervention in the Horn of Africa, MRP, New York, 1980, A . Jalata, Oromia and Ethiopia: State Formation and Ethnonational Conflict 1868-1992, Lynne Reinner, 1992, Sisay Ibsa et al The Invention of Ethiopia, Trenton, Red Sea press 1991. There are many articles and pamphleteering from the various fronts from the TPLF to OLF, ONLF, Sidama Liberation Front and others that spread loosely the false conception of Ethiopia ’s relations with the various communities both inside and outside the region as a colonial relation. 58 This sinister anti-intellectual 59 and devious misconstruction 60 must be rejected and the precise concept that truly characterises relations of oppressions involving the peoples of the region re- formulated by mounting an unsparing criticism of so much of the propaganda masquerading as science. 61 Ethiopia’s relations with Eritrea, Somalia, Djibouti or Sudan has never been colonial 62 and is not colonial in the sense of a relationship that Britain, Italy or France had with these various states including Ethiopia. 63"
Refutation of Mammo Muchie’s Myth of Origin (Unite the people from the Red Sea to the Indian Ocean)
Point 51
It is comical to involve the hypothetical prophetic capacities of a cruel and bloodthirsty dictator like Menelik in the formation of a colonial tyranny of second class. All the capacities of Menelik in this regard are limited to the British guidance of this tribal chieftain against the plans of England’s worst enemy in the Horn of Africa region, Italy.
As behind the colonial, political, diplomatic and academic stage were hidden religious purposes and quests, the confrontation between Vatican and the Freemasonic establishment of England and France took the form of colonial antagonism.
Due to this antagonism, Germany was in Tanzania, Italy invaded Eastern and Southern Somalia, and the Red Sea coastal lands between Suakin (Anglo-Egyptian Sudan) and Djibouti (France), whereas England took position in Kenya and the lands of Northern Somalia stretched between the Italian acquisitions and the French territory.
As Britain was involved in India, Egypt, South Africa and other parts of the world, it would be difficult for them to shape a small force to invade the numerous lands and kingdoms that existed between the Eastern African coast and the British colonial territories in the South and the West (Kenya and Sudan).
Instead of embarking on a daring and premature plan, they helped the little barbaric chieftain Menelik to face the Italians; to properly do so, he would have expand his control in order to find the necessary resources, i.e. men to fight in the frontline against the Italians, and money to buy weapons. To find the necessary financial resources, Menelik became Africa’s most villainous slave merchant. This is all about his otherwise inexistent "prescient insight".
If we do not consider his project as colonial, as Mammo Muchie suggests, we must denounce it as genocidal, and demand the definite demolition of the execrable state that he did his inhuman best to establish. This is the real origin of Africa’s longest lasting tyranny. Nothing about prophetic capacities!
Point 52
Mammo Muchie is constantly deploying great effort to alter a simple, down to earth reality, by misinterpreting it through absurdity, paranoia and sheer inanity; how can anyone ‘redress …. imperial and colonial injustice’, by further expanding ‘colonial injustice’?
In what Menelik’s deeds - in invading foreign lands and kingdoms, subjugating foreign peoples, confiscating their properties, and implementing genocidal tactics – can be considered different from those of the French, English, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese and other colonials? In nothing. Abolishing a kingdom is allover the world the same, either performed by a European or carried out by an Asiatic or African. An invasion is always an invasion, either undertaken by African soldiers or assumed by European forces.
As we already said, what the French did to the Berbers of Algeria, Menelik’s Abyssinians did to the Oromos; the comparison is established and universally accepted. No one can deny it.
If Menelik wanted to implement justice, he had the opportunity to call an alliance among all the African kingdoms and populations for the formation of an anti-European front; of course, he had no background, no culture, no education, no civilization, no moral codes, and religious principles on which to rely for this ‘love for justice’.
He was virtually unable to think ‘Justice’ as he was formed in order to think ‘pillage’.
In addition, if for a moment we accept the working hypothesis of Menelik being anxious for Justice, we immediately conclude that in case this had happened, the rest of the cruel, murderous, uncivilized and inhuman Amhara elite and society, the villainous ‘ras’ and the miserable ‘debteraw’ would have rejected him, and replaced him immediately by means of a palatial coup.
Point 53
It’s amusing to see Mammo Muchie concerned with the other colonized peoples, and the injustices done to them, ‘from the Mediterranean to the Indian and Atlantic Oceans’.
When projecting his fallacious interest on Menelik’s outrageous record of appalling crimes, he forgets an entire ….. Ocean! Were there no colonized peoples in Polynesia, Philippines, Australia, New Zealand and Indonesia?
And if Mammo Muchie is inclined to Advocacy for Colonized Peoples, why does he not demand today Freedom and Independence for the oppressed Shekachos, Kaffas, Anuak, Sidamas, Afars, Agaw, Ogadenis, and Oromos of the Abyssinian tyranny?
Is Mammo Muchie the foremost embodiment of the Most Execrable Partiality, the Epitome of Biased Approaches and Considerations?
Or have all the aforementioned tyrannized peoples never been invaded by the armies of the alien Amharas, Africa’s most iniquitous and racist element?
Point 54
Back to Mammo Muchie nebulous statements; who can possibly be ‘those who have legitimate demands to decentralize the states of the region’? ‘Legitimate’ demands to decentralize a state only a nation, a distinct people can have; the statement seems to concern peoples who have been subjugated and included in a territory they never accepted as ‘theirs’. Certainly, a peaceful way to National Independence can be the decentralization and the democratization of an old tyranny where the local establishment comes to terms with the urgent needs for update, modernization, and progress.
However, it is not sure that all tyrants are able to understand these realities; a classical example is Slobodan Milosevic whose country, if he had been logical enough and perceptually strong, would not have faced so many wars, disasters, bombardments and embargos.
Finally, Slobodan Milosevic did not achieve any of his initial goals; instead, he managed to be internationally condemned for his crimes, and Serbia – after having controlled (like the Amharas and the Tigrays in Abyssinia) the Slovenes, the Croats, the Bosnians, the Macedonians, the Kosovars, and the Montenegrins – lost both, its hegemony over these peoples, and its own resources, which have been virtually all destroyed in successive wars.
Certainly the oppressed Shekachos, Kaffas, Anuak, Sidamas, Afars, Agaw, Ogadenis, and Oromos of the Abyssinian tyranny have legitimate demands of decentralization, autonomy and independence.
Mammo Muchie, and those who support his racist and bogus-historical ideas, must realize that History does not advance in a retrograde way, and more easily Amharas and Tigrays consent to the ultimate split of the Abyssinian tyranny and independence for all its oppressed peoples, more rapidly all of them will advance to progress.
Decentralization can be conceived and implemented in many various forms; ‘localizing authority at the grassroots’ may be just one of them. And there is nothing wrong about it. Except, it destroys the criminal, lawless and inhuman plots and projects of the Abyssinian gangsters.
Mammo Muchie never studied Montesquieu, Diderot, Voltaire and Rousseau, let alone Caesar and Thucydides, to pertinently perceive the quintessence of Democracy; and due to his overwhelming racism, he did not study the superior social systems of the Oromos and the Sidamas that consist in the African way to Original Democracy.
- What is the epitome of Democracy?
Representativity, Freedom, and Equality.
In the Antiquity, in the Phoenician colonies, in Carthage, in Athens, in Rome, and before all of them in the Mesopotamian Elam at the times of the elected Sukkalmahhu (ca. 19th – 14th century BCE), due to the limited number of the indigenous inhabitants, representativity was not an issue, as all were present in the decision making processes.
In our times, the rising power of the grassroots organizations bring people back to politics, offering chances of participation in an important decision making process that the existing old types of political parties cannot offer anymore. Grassroots organizations are therefore the democratic societies’ most alive elements. Only tyrannical gangsters and their stooges do not like the idea. And Mammo Muchie!
Point 55
This comes as continuation of the previous point; who can be disappointed -except a cruel Neo-Nazi, inhuman element – with the idea of ‘empowering ordinary citizens’?
How the democratic authorities of Denmark and the humanist academia of that traditionally democratic Northern European society allow an element like Mammo Muchie move free in the streets of Aalborg?
Since when can an African tyrant’s stooge move to Northern Europe, disrespect the principles and the concepts of Democracy and Humanism (through the denigration of the concept of ‘empowering ordinary citizens), and be calmly left to promote his Neo-Nazi agenda?
Point 56
‘Went overboard’? Really?
The new African Dictator Mammo Muchie does not tolerate Freedom of thought, ideological inspiration, and theoretical systematization! Only up to a specific point, this cruel ideological terrorist of Mammo Muchie permits us to think and to theoretize; beyond the limits Mammo Muchie sets, we are ‘overboard’, and he will punish us!
He will send us to Kaliti jail, or he will have us executed in the same inhuman way tyrant Meles Zenawi had the Great Sidama Artist Kefyalew Yunka mercilessly murdered a few days ago!
- Who are you ignorant and illiterate Mammo Muchie to define this or that ideological system as ‘false’? What are your qualifications, and your insufficient credentials that can possibly entitle you to such an evaluation?
If humanist and democratic ideological systems are denigrated by Mammo Muchie as ‘false’, it is perhaps high time for Aalborg University authorities to take the decision of firing the infamous intruder Mammo Muchie who represents the shame of the European Universities.
What is the ideological system Mammo Muchie calls ‘false’? Judging on the bibliography he presents to denounce the ideological system in question, ‘false’ is for Mammo Muchie the system that helped produce democratic societies, economic progress, and social prosperity in Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania!
The system that helped Slovenia, Slovakia and the Czech Republic thrive is ‘false’, says Mammo Muchie, The ideology that brought Democracy and Humanism to Georgia, Kosovo and Bosnia is ‘false’! Well, the contrary is far more easily said: the only mentally and intellectually ‘false’ is Mammo Muchie.
And he is mentally corrupt; his text is nonsensical. Even if these ideologies are ‘false’, they are accepted – according to what he says – by those who have legitimate demands! In other words, it is their legitimate right to think and systematize their thoughts in this way.
Point 57
This is the psychological and mental collapse of Mammo Muchie; he tries to introduce a false argumentation. In brief, he pretends the following: ‘their system is wrong; they say Ethiopia is colonial; so it is wrong to say that Ethiopia is colonial! Even Aristotle would be frightened to face the debility ‘Mammo Muchie’!
The reason we specify Ethiopia as ‘colonial power’ has nothing to do with ideological systems introduced or applied here and there; it pertains to History, not to Political Ideology! Analyzing historical facts, in a way Mammo Muchie is genuinely incapacitated to comprehend as he never studied properly in a University Department of History, we conclude that Ethiopia is a colonial power. We leave ideology at the door! Only Mammo Muchie confuses systematic academic discipline and political theory.
In fact, due to invasions of foreign lands, occupation of foreign territories, and scandalous oppression, genocide and dehumanization of numerous peoples, Abyssinia – fallaciously re-baptized Ethiopia – proved to be a colonial power.
Point 58
This is Mammo Muchie: academically wrong, and politically dictatorial. He says that Tigrays, Oromos, Ogadenis and Sidamas (so automatically a large majority in the Cemetery of Peoples – Abyssinia) spread loosely the ‘false conception’, etc. etc. etc. etc. etc.
What does it matter?
If they form a majority, they have the right to impose the solution they are fighting for. There is no correct or false ideology in a democratic country.
Were all the ideas and concepts of Francois Mitterrand correct?
Did Thatcher never have a ‘false’ idea or concept?
In today’s world, what matters – and what is missing in tyrannical Abyssinia – is implementation of democratic procedures, and respect of the majority. Either correct or wrong, if the majority of Oromos want independence, they will get it done, and there is nothing a certain Mammo Muchie can do to prevent it.
Point 59
Thanks to the ignorance, the inconsistencies, and the undemocratic background of Mammo Muchie, when he attempts to characterize others as ‘anti-intellectual’, we truly believe it is quite an indictment!
Point 60
Anything that brings about the much needed destruction of the totalitarian state of Abyssinia is ‘devious misconstruction’; but the extrajudicial killings in Ogaden are just angelic endeavours!
This is the scandalous, partial, biased and malignant attitude of Mammo Muchie.
And we do not think that a malicious slanderer like this can have a position in a European University.
Point 61
Historical truth is not propaganda. Mammo Muchie cannot deny the different origins, cultures, religion and languages of the oppressed nations of Abyssinia. If he cannot afford to accept realities like the slave trade practiced by Menelik, he proves that he is a conscious and all-committed enemy of the Worldwide Academic Community.
Point 62
This is at least correct! With the exception of Eritrea, and without considering developments after 1991, Abyssinia’s relations to Sudan, Somalia and Djibouti were not colonial; true!
They were inimical, and all the various peoples of the three countries reject and despise the barbaric Amharas and Tigrays.
But this is not the issue. What matters is not whether Sudanis, Eritreans and Somalis consider the Abyssinians as a colonial power.
The critical point is that all the oppressed Shekachos, Kaffas, Anuak, Sidamas, Afars, Agaw, Ogadenis, and Oromos of the Abyssinian tyranny consider Abyssinia’s presence on their occupied – still in 2007 – territory as colonial; and they will fight by all possible means to eradicate and obliterate the slightest trace of the ominous and sacrilegious Amhara and Tigray presence from their historical lands, thus achieving National Independence, Freedom and Democracy.
Point 63
It is pleasant to see at last Mammo Muchie in an effort of comparison! This is the parallel: what the British did to the Nubians, the Bejas and many other peoples of Sudan the Amharas and the Tigrays did to the Shekachos, Kaffas, Anuak, Sidamas, Afars, Agaw, Ogadenis, and Oromos: they invaded, occupied and colonized their lands.
Note
Picture: Maluli (Mandulis in Ancient Greek), Nubian God as depicted on bas relief of the temple dedicated to him by the co-ruling Cleopatra (and then Octavian Augustus) of Egypt and Arkamani of Meroe (Ethiopia) in Talmis (today Kalabsha in Upper Egypt): totally irrelevant to the Axumite Abyssinians, and to modern Amharas' and Tigrays' background.
