Hooters Hotel Las Vegas: Does It Live Up To The Hooters Sport & Fun Theme?
Hooters Hotel Las Vegas stands on a property that was previously the San Remo Hotel that Hooters acquired in 2004.
The Hooters group have, hitherto, confined themselves to the restaurant business. Hooters restaurants are ubiquitous, across the country.
Those who have been to any Hooters restaurant is likely to remember the attractive girls in their white tank tops and orange shorts, the light wood and orange bar stools and other furniture, parchment menus, wood-weave plates, staff calendars, celebrity photos on the walls, table-top paper towel holders, and wooden wall paneling.
Hooters restaurants have always projected a beach-party ambience, with a fun-loving sporty young crowd.
The Hooters theme is so predominant in our minds that it amounts to a very strong brand recall. Therefore, it shouldn’t surprise anybody that Hooters decided to retain their well-recognized identity, in the only hotel they own, at Las Vegas.
Hooters took over the property from San Remo, and redid the property, before they got down to doing business. The San Remo had an Italian Riviera theme. The Hooters sport and fun theme is such a departure from that of the hotel’s previous owners that the management had to refurbish the hotel, in a big way. They made sure that they did not depart from the much recognized Hooters theme. Consequently, the hotel is a magnified version of a Hooters restaurant.
Starting with the reception area, a visitor to the hotel is greeted by the colorful sight of light wood and orange, wherever one looks.
Hooter girls are everywhere: in the lobby, at the poolside, in the casino… In fact, the 200 to 250 girls on the staff are said to be the largest, of the kind, in the world, according to the hotel management.
Surely, the rooms cannot possibly resemble a Hooters restaurant? I won’t blame you if you thought so. But when you visit the rooms, you’ll find that they can, and do resemble Hooters restaurants. Rooms have orange lampshades, and orange bar stools. I almost forgot to tell you about the typical Hooters cocktail tables, in the rooms.
If there’s any place in the hotel that the orange theme looks extremely cheerful, it’s the casino, which must rank as one of the warmest in Vegas.
All in all, if you love Hooters restaurants, you’ll love their hotel in Las Vegas, too.
