Suppressing Hunger / Thirst: With the hoodia weight loss pills, you go against the law of the nature of feeling hungry. Therefore, you may tend to have stomach problems. Initially, when you start the hoodia diet, you may have an upset stomach as you are not used to having appetite suppressants. Although this problem is experienced by many hoodia diet pill users, it is definitely a matter of concern if the problem persists for a longer time. Similarly hoodia also suppresses thirst, and hence, a person drinks less water than what is required by the body. This can lead to severe disorders like acute dehydration or kidney malfunctioning.

Lower Metabolism: As a person does not eat sufficient food when on hoodia weight loss diet, the body does not receive adequate amount of calories. The regular metabolism of the body gets disturbed due to lack of calories. The metabolism gets slower and the calories do not get burned quickly.

Anorexia Nervosa: Anorexia nervosa is an eating disorder where a person deliberately starves himself to lose weight. Hoodia diet can make a person anorexic as it is meant to suppress appetite. Liver Disorder: Liver disorder is also one of the major hoodia diet pill side effect. It is believed that the P57 molecule in hoodia can cause stressed functioning of the liver which can also result in abnormal liver function.

Side effects like diarrhea, stomach cramps, headache, dizziness, etc., are not related to hoodia diet pills.

These supplements are not advised to people suffering from diabetes, as hoodia has a negative effect on diabetics. When people with diabetes have hoodia, along with suppression of appetite, their blood sugar level also drops drastically. Due to this, their body does not respond to hunger signals. It is also advised that people suffering from high blood pressure and even pregnant women should refrain from taking hoodia diet control pills.

Side effects are usually observed if pills are not taken in correct amount or are taken without consulting the doctor. Therefore, one should think carefully and go for hoodia diet only if your doctor does not opine against it.
