Homesick

I'm so homesick for my country
The sand and sun creeps in like poison
To lay in the shade of a giant oak tree
Smell the soil so rich you could eat it
Black earth on red clay, skinned knees
Sun burned shoulders and cheeks
Barefoot in Kentucky's creeks
Grass and watermelon sneaks
Grandpa's boat that leaks
Sobs, leave me weak
Desert peaks
Cut my eyes
