Homemade White Cake Mix Recipes

White cake mix forms a basic ingredient in many homemade cake recipes. There are a few of them that I found beyond just scrumptious. They were sinfully divine!
Homemade White Cake Mix Recipes
I love cakes! Monica (from the TV series FRIENDS) used to hitch hike to cake shops. Well, honestly, if my mother would have not been an magician at baking, I, probably, would have done the same. So anyways, since I am such a "cake freak", I decided to share 2 of my favorite recipes. They are not exactly a secret from the rest of the world, but they are special to me. Not only because they are homemade, but because they are mom-made!

Recipe 1
Golden Banana Cake

1 packet white cake mix
1 packet vanilla instant pudding
1/2 cup Wesson oil
3/4 cup water
4 eggs
1/2 cup chopped pecans
1 cup mashed bananas

Stir up all the ingredients and pour them into a well-greased and floured pan. Set the oven at 325 degrees and bake it. 50 minutes later, your base will be ready.

BUTTER SAUCE
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup water
1 stick of margarine

Melt the butter on the stove. Make sure it does not boil. Add about 1 teaspoon of banana flavouring (since it is golden BANANA cake). Pour this over the base as soon as it is taken out of the oven. If need be, prick it with a fork (I simply do it because it is kind of fun).

BANANA GLAZE
1/2 medium banana
1 tsp. lemon juice
1/2 cup chopped nuts
2 or more cup powdered sugar (as per taste requirement)

Mash the bananas well (again, a lot of fun to do) and add the nuts and lemon juice to it. Add the sugar slowly, make sure you check for the consistency simultaneously as both are related. Leave it to cool.

Recipe 2
7-Up Cake Recipe

1 package vanilla instant pudding
1 box white cake mix
3/4 cup vegetable oil
4 eggs
10 ounces 7-Up

Mix the pudding mix and cake mix with the vegetable oil. Add the eggs, make sure you beet them one at a time. Stir the 7-Up in to the batter. Pour into 3 greased and floured cake pans. Set the oven at 350 and bake for 20 minutes. Leave to cool (should take around 10 minutes).

FILLING
1 1/2 cup sugar
2 tablespoons flour
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1/2 cup butter or margarine
1 can crushed pineapple, drained
1 can coconut
1/2 cup nuts

Slowly add beaten eggs to a mixture of the flour and sugar. Add the butter or margarine too. Cook it at the top of a double boiler (preferable) until syrupy consistency in formed. Now add the nuts, pineapple and coconut.

Now, remove it from the pan and and leave it to cool on the racks. Spread the filling between the layers. Spread it more generously on the top of the cake.

As I have already said (in my previous articles), cooking is an art, one that needs to be honed with love and care. Whatever you cook, it will consist a signature spice that your individuality will add to it. Just remember, cook like it is magic, and garnish like it is art. That should help you to create both, art and magic in your kitchen!
