Humane Mouse Trap
The humane mouse trap is the best option if you wish to release the mouse after trapping it. Making a humane mouse trap is quite easy, as you need just a few things like cardboard, butter, chair, etc. Search for a wooden or cardboard tube, even a toilet paper tube will do! Just make sure that the tube is big enough for the mouse to fit in. Shape the tube into a tunnel by folding one end of it. Now take a small table or chair and place it in the area of havoc. The tube which you have made should now be placed on the table, place it in such a way that ¼ of the tube is on the table and rest of it hangs off. Place a bucket under the hanging part of the tube. Now put some bait like cheese, cracker crumbs, or seeds in the mouse trap. All you have to do now is wait and watch! Do not stay near the trap constantly as mice are sure to smell the danger. Keep this humane mouse trap overnight, the mice are much more free and careless during the dark hours! And when the culprit does get trapped, leave it in a far away area, but remember it is illegal to free pests in locals parks or farms.
Bucket Trap
This is one of the most popular trap which works well for pests like mice. For making this trap you will need a five-gallon bucket (plastic), a ramp, a styrofoam plate and the longest part of a wire coat hanger. Start by making two small holes on the sides of the bucket, just under the opening of the bucket. Now place the plate upside down on the mouth of the bucket. One end of the plate should rest on the rim of the bucket, halfway between the drilled holes. Now make a hole in the plate and insert one end of the wire hanger in the hole of the plate, slowly insert the entire wire through the plate. Continue with the process until the wire comes out through the other end of the plate. Do not go to the tip of the plate as the plate can break. Make the second hole of the plate an inch away from its edge. Let the wire coat through the drilled hole of the bucket. Once you are done with this, fill the bucket with 2-3 inches of water. Now place a stiff flat cardboard at both the sides of the bucket, they will work as a ramp. If you do not have cardboard, you can even use sticks. Now spread lots of peanut butter on the surface of the plate that is facing the water. Flip the plate so that non-baited area of the plate rests on the rim of the bucket. Put peanut butter on the other side of the plate also. Your work is now done. The mouse will climb this homemade mouse trap for the cheese and get dumped in the water.
