I am personally fond of garlic bread, more so when it is homemade garlic bread. Italian food is simply incomplete without garlic bread in my house. I also like to have it with a bowl of salad or also when I just want to have a soup dinner. The beauty of garlic bread lies in that you can vary and be innovative with the toppings and bring out different varieties altogether. Now let's see how to make garlic bread at home.

How to Make Garlic Bread at Home

Easy Recipe
We will see how to make soft garlic bread with this recipe. Depending on my mood and what am I going to eat it with, I either make toasted garlic bread or soft garlic bread.

Ingredients
  • Italian or French Bread 1 loaf
  • Unsalted Butter (softened) ½ cup
  • Garlic Cloves (minced) 2
  • Parsley (Freshly chopped) 1 heaped tablespoon
  • Parmesan Cheese (freshly grated) ¼ cup
Method
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit as you prepare the bread.
  • Cut the bread in half horizontally.
  • In a bowl mix butter, garlic, cheese and parsley together.
  • Spread the butter mixture on the inside of the bread halves.
  • Close the bread and wrap the bread in an aluminum foil and heat in the oven for 15 minutes.
Toasted Garlic Bread Recipe
We will now see how to make toasted and crispy garlic bread. I like a lot of garlic in my garlic bread, hence the quantity of garlic in this recipe is more as compared to in the garlic bread recipe above.

Ingredients
  • French or Italian Bread 1 loaf
  • Unsalted Butter (softened) ½ cup
  • Garlic Cloves (minced thoroughly) 6 to 8
  • Fresh Parsley (finely cut) 2 tablespoons
  • Oregano 1 teaspoon
Method
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit as you prepare the bread.
  • Mix minced garlic, fresh parsley, oregano and butter in a bowl thoroughly.
  • Slice the bread horizontally into half and spread the garlic mixture on both the cut halves of the bread.
  • Place the bread on the baking pan for about 12 to 15 minutes.
  • Remove the bread from the oven and allow it to cool for about 2 minutes and then slice them and serve immediately.
  • If you are fond of cheese, you can also add grated cheese to the butter mixture.
Making Garlic Bread with Regular Bread
Sometimes, we have regular bread at home and want to make garlic bread with it. I have come across people who say garlic bread cannot be made with regular bread slices. However, it is not so. The other variation in this garlic bread recipe is that we will use garlic powder in place of minced garlic.

Ingredients
  • Bread Slices 10
  • Unsalted Butter (softened) 1 stick
  • Garlic Powder 3 teaspoons
Method
  • In a bowl mix butter and 2 teaspoons of garlic powder together.
  • Spread the butter mixture on each slice and sprinkle a little garlic powder on the slices.
  • Set the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and place the bread slices on the baking sheet.
  • Bake the slices for about 7 to 8 minutes, till they are golden brown in color.
  • However, be careful so that the bread does not burn.
Garlic Bread Sticks Recipe
Many wrongly assume making garlic sticks at home is difficult, but once you read this recipe you will change your opinion.

Ingredients
  • Bread Slices 10
  • Butter (softened) ½ cup
  • Garlic Cloves (minced) 5
  • Sesame Seeds (toasted) 3 tablespoons
Method
  • Cut the slices into ½ inch sticks and lay them on a baking pan.
  • Mix butter, minced garlic and sesame seeds together.
  • Brush the sticks with butter mixture on both the sides.
  • Bake in the oven at 200 degrees Fahrenheit until the sticks become golden brown in color.
