When we think of making cakes, the part that excites us the most is the ever-so-tempting cake decorations, be it frosting or the various icing decorations or the marshmallow toppings; the beauty of the cake lies in the decoration, surely! "Frosting" a cake should be done with delicate hands always, otherwise it can spoil the entire cake which you wouldn't want, of course. After the cake is baked properly in the oven, cut it into horizontal layers and frost each one of them using the flavored frosting recipe which you have prepared. Frosting is actually the icing spread uniformly on the cake to impart it with the flavor of your choice and also seal all the crumbs and smoothen the surface.

Making frost at home is not a tough job if you manage to mix the best flavors possible and try out something new!

Recipe #1: Rapper's Frosting
Ingredients: Chocolate bar, 3 tablespoons butter, half cup milk

Procedure:
  • Boil chocolate bar, milk and butter in a saucepan. Make sure all the ingredients mix properly and the mixture is uniform.
  • Turn off the burner and let the mixture cool down.
  • Refrigerate the mixture in a bowl.
  • Later, add some more milk and whip vigorously so that the frost is created.
  • Your mouth-watering chocolate frosting recipe is ready! This is one of the easiest chocolate frosting recipes.
Recipe #2: Lemon Cream Cheese Frosting
Ingredients: one packet cream cheese, 4 tablespoons butter, 1 tablespoon lemon zest, one cup sugar

Procedure:
  • Beat butter and cream cheese in a large bowl using a blender.
  • Add sugar and lemon zest and beat again.
  • Your frosting is ready and you can use it on cupcakes and cookies as well! You can try out various recipes if you want to.
Recipe #3: Peanut Butter Frosting
Ingredients: half cup peanut butter, 2 tablespoons butter, half cup milk, one cup sugar, one tablespoon vanilla extract

Procedure:
  • Heat milk, butter and sugar in a saucepan until butter melts.
  • Add peanut butter and vanilla in the mixture later, mix until the consistency is smooth.
  • Peanut butter is ready-to-eat! You can add chocolate and make butter cream chocolate frosting as well.
Recipe #4: 7-minute Coconut Frosting
Ingredients: one cup sugar, one tablespoon cream of tartar or white corn syrup, 3 egg whites, one tablespoon vanilla extract, pinch of salt, one tablespoon coconut extract, half cup coconut water, grated coconut

Procedure:
  • Add sugar, cream of tartar, salt, coconut water and egg whites in a bowl and boil water on a high flame simultaneously in a saucepan. Place the bowl over the saucepan and blend the mixture properly for 6 minutes with the help of a blender.
  • After removing from flame, mix vanilla and coconut extract in it and again beat constantly for 1 minute with the help of a blender.
  • Allow the frosting to cool down and use it for frosting your cake.
  • Sprinkle grated coconut after each layering of the frost. If you like vanilla then make vanilla frosting as well.
Recipe #5: Caramel Frosting
Ingredients: one cup dark brown sugar, 6 tablespoons butter, half cup milk, one pinch salt, one-fourth cup sugar, half tablespoon vanilla extract

Procedure:
  • Take brown sugar, butter, milk and salt in a saucepan and boil it.
  • Take it off the flame and let it cool down.
  • Add sugar and vanilla extract and beat smoothly until the consistency is thick enough.
  • Now add it onto your cupcakes or frost it on your cake!
