Homemade Facial Scrub

Exfoliating your skin regularly is an important part of the facial skin care regime which you should not miss out. Exfoliating your skin with a scrub helps remove the dead skin and deep clean the skin pores. It will help get rid of dirt and unclog the pores. Scrubbing is extremely useful for keeping your facial skin free of acne. You can also get a fresh skin and remove the tan if you use an exfoliating scrub regularly. Scrubs used for delicate facial skin should not be harsh. So opting for homemade facial scrubs is a great idea.

Wheat Husk Scrub

This is a scrub for normal skin. Take half cup of wheat husk in a medium-sized bowl and add 2 tbsp of honey and 2 tbsp of milk to make a thick paste. Apply it over your face thoroghly, except the eyes. Exfoliate gently with your hands in circular motion for 5-10 minutes. Wash off with lukewarm water. Exfoliate skin at home daily with this scrub to keep it clean and healthy.

Strawberry Scrub

Here is a scrub for oily skin. This will also help in acne control. Take 4 mashed strawberries and 2 tbsp of brown sugar. The granules of brown sugar are very effective in removing the dead cells. Use this scrub for exfoliating oily skin thrice a week to have a soft and supple skin.

Cucumber Scrub
Take ½ of a medium-sized cucumber. Peel it. Put it in a blender and add 2 tsp honey to it. Blend until you make it smooth. Now transfer this to a small bowl and add 1 tsp oatmeal powder, 1 tsp ground almond, 1 tsp ground sunflower seed and 1 tsp wheat germ. Mix well to form a paste. Apply it on your face and scrub well to exfoliate your skin. Leave it for 5-10 and wash off. This is a good scrub that helps reduce tanning as well.

Olive Oil Scrub
Here is a mild scrub for dry skin. Take 3 tsp olive oil and add 1 tsp sea salt to it for exfoliating face with this scrub. You can also apply olive oil thoroughly on your face, take sea salt in your hands and start scrubbing the face. This scrub will remove dead cells and also nourish it to make it smoother.

Rice Scrub
This is a good scrub for acne. Soak rice in a bowl overnight. Next morning grind it to make a paste. Now add ¼ tsp turmeric powder to it and mix well. Apply this paste on your facial skin and scrub it after a few minutes when it slightly dries.

Almond and Oatmeal Scrub
This is a wonderful scrub to get a soft and radiant skin. Take 4 tbsp ground almonds, 4 tbsp medium oatmeal, 1½ tbsp powered rose petals and 2 tbsp powdered milk. Add about 5 drops of almond oil as well. Mix thoroughly to make a paste. Use this gentle scrub for sensitive skin regularly, preferable before going to bed.

Using the suitable scrubs regularly will help you have a healthy skin. It will help improve the texture of your skin and keep it problem-free. Make sure that you use it at least on alternate days. After washing the scrub, dry the skin and finish by applying a toner and a gentle moisturizer.
