Decorating Christmas Dough Ornaments
Decorating the homemade dough Christmas ornaments can be a fun affair for you and the children. You can shape the ornaments in the shape of gingerbread men with eyes buttons and belts which can be stuck to the ornaments using glue. For the dough Christmas wreaths you can make dough ribbons and tie it to the wreaths. One of the favorite dough ornaments I ever made was the Santa Claus ones. All you had to do was cut out Santa shapes and color it in red and white. Use a cheese grater to cut out long pieces that you can use for the beard. Similarly, for making the candy cane add a few drops of red food coloring to the dough and a few drops of white into another roll of dough. Roll out the pieces into long rope like shapes using your hand and then braid them together. At the end curve the shape so that your ornament now resembles a candy cane. For decorating the ornaments you can use colored paper, glitter and yarn for making the skirts, shirts and other accessories. Candy pieces can be used as buttons, eyes, mouth etc.
