Home Video Surfaces Showing Monroe Sniffing her Armpit

A personal home video, showing actress Marilyn Monroe acting silly at an informal home get-together, has surfaced after being recovered from the attic of the maker 50 years after it was captured.
A mute, 4 minute, 16mm tape with intimate moments of celebrated actress Marilyn Monroe has recently been bought by a connoisseur of historical artifacts and documents, Keya Morgan for 275,000 dollars from the maker of the film. The clip which was shot in a private New Jersey household was filmed by a person named Gretchen, not revealing her surname for personal reasons, sometime in the late 1950s.

The reel which basically depicts the actress in a rather relaxed, almost unwinding frame of mind, was filmed during an informal get-together and "not a party", one where you "come over and hang out" describes Gretchen. The clip has frames showing the actress, rather famous by then, playfully sniffing her armpit, making goofy faces and also smoking a cigarette while "just sitting around" and singing out loud with the others. Gretchen also admitted that the cigarette was stuffed with marijuana as she herself obtained the drug for that evening. "I got it (the pot). It was mine. It was just passed around," she said. However, the video shows the actress taking a puff but refraining from inhaling deeply. Gretchen also informed that the video had actually seen several house changes before finally being stored in the attic for the last 3 years.

The short clip was basically unearthed when Morgan, presently working on a documentary called Marilyn Monroe: Murder at 5th Helena Drive, was acquainted with the existence of such a clip by an FBI agent he was interviewing as a part of his research. The documentary deals with conspiracy and murder theories related to the sudden death of the actress under mysterious circumstances on 5th August, 1962. Morgan justified his lump-some payment for the faded color clip by stating, "It's a side of Marilyn that no one has ever seen before," he said. "You see the private Norma Jeane, the girl. You don't see Marilyn Monroe, the movie star." Originally named Norma Jeane Mortenson and then baptized to Norma Jeane Baker, Monroe adopted her famous screen name in the 1920s after trying out various permutations and combinations, guided by Ben Lyon, then executive of 20th Century Fox.

Morgan's film investigates the possibilities of the actress actually being murdered due to her alleged romantic liaisons with both Robert and John F. Kennedy, as claimed by investigator Frank Capell for the former and Judith Exner, JFK's mistress in case of the latter. The official records however, cited an "acute barbiturate poisoning" as the cause of death. It is likely to release next year. He is also presently working to obtain the copyright of the clip which will be put up for an online auction on eBay by the end of this week.
