Take a handful of uncooked oatmeal and grind them into a fine powder. Add some warm water to form a paste. Mix a spoonful of honey or yogurt in it and add a pinch of lavender or chamomile to it. Apply it on the affected area and keep for 15 minutes before washing it off with warm water.

Gramflour Mask
Take 2 tsp. gramflour and 1 tsp yogurt and blend them into a paste. Add a pinch of turmeric and few drops of lemon juice. Apply the mask over the affected area and wash it off with warm water when it dries completely.

Orange Peel Powder
Take a handful of dried orange peels and grind them into a fine powder. Add a few drops of milk to form a mixture. Apply this paste on the face and let it stay there for as long as possible. Wash it off with cold water.

Herbs
Certain herbs like basil, neem, mint leaves are effective in treating acne. Crush some basil or mint leaves into juice and apply directly on the affected area. You can also add a pinch of turmeric to the juice. Neem leaves can be added directly to your bathwater on a daily basis, for acne prevention.

Steam
Taking steam 2-3 times a week, drastically reduces the occurrence of acne. Take a pot of hot, boiling water, add a few drops of lavender essential oil and let the erupting steam hit you in face. Steam opens up the pores and cleans them, thus eliminating the chances of bacterial infection. However, make sure to apply an ice cube over the face, after steam to close the pores again.
