Home Staging Tips and Tricks
Gearing up to sell your house? Check out these great home staging tips to get the best deal that your house deserves...

Top 10 Home Staging Tips
These tips will not only help you get a good buyer but they will also get you the best price your house can fetch. Not to mention that the appearance of your house will improve extensively.
1. Uncluttering
If you hire a professional stager, the first thing he will ask you to do is unclutter the house. Just cleaning every corner of your house is not enough. You have to unclutter every corner, shelf and cupboard. And the first rule of uncluttering is reducing the number of things. So get rid of the extra chairs, the extra books and DVDs even the extra cutlery in the kitchen. You can donate these things to a charity if you are not sure about what to do with them.
2. Outsides Count Too
Yes, you have cleaned and uncluttred the entire house. But the first impression will be made by how your house looks from outside. If landscaping seems a little costly at least mow the lawn and clean the doors and windows. Also, do not forget the garage.
3. Make it Neutral
When your potential buyer is looking around your house, he is imagining himself living in the house. But if it is filled with your personal stuff he will not feel like he owns it, he will feel like a guest there. So clear up all the family pictures, any personal awards and anything that belongs personally to you or anyone in your family.
4. Leaks and Creaks
If you are having someone over for dinner it is not likely that they will look under the sink or at the bathroom ceiling. But when someone comes to buy the house they will dig into every corner and behind all shelves. So check if there are any leaks anywhere in the house or if the paint is coming off behind a cupboard.
5. Remove Paintings or Wall Pieces
Is there a painting in your living room or a wall piece that uses very strong color schemes? Take it off. You want to create a nice and good feeling in your house so hang up paintings with simple colors depicting something good.
6. The Floors
A worn carpet or creaking hardwood flooring are quite important turn offs. Repair the hardwood floor and spread a new carpet.
7. Let in Some Air
You may have already moved and are looking to sell your old house. In that case, take some time out every few days and open all the doors and windows of the old house to let in some fresh air. Otherwise the house will get stuffy and musty.
8. Best Foot Forward
What did you see in the house when you bought it? Show that to your prospective buyer too. Accentuate all the best things about your house and make sure the buyer notices them all.
9. Clean and Clean Some More
You have to keep the whole place spotless all the time. That is because it gives a good feeling about the place. Just step into the shoes of the buyer and you will understand the importance of cleanliness. This is probably one of the most important tips for home staging.
10. When the Buyer Arrives
You have done everything in your power to make a good impression. And the buyer has come to look around. Remember the following things: do not follow him around everywhere. If you are putting up music it better be instrumental. And don't try too hard.
The above list of home staging tips is not exhaustive and you can find many more things to better the appearance of your house before selling it. Home staging is a very interesting field and you can even take a certification course and you will find tons of jobs waiting for you.
