A person suffering from rosacea, has red bumps or pimples on the nose, forehead and cheeks. In some cases tiny broken vessels appear on the nose. This skin problem generally affects fair-skinned people who are between 30 and 60 years of age. Unless the skin problem is severe, you don't have to really visit a dermatologist, as there are quite a few home remedies that can treat this condition effectively.

Potato Juice
Take 1 tablespoon of extracted potato juice and mix it with fuller's earth (1 tablespoon), until a thick paste is formed. Apply the paste on the skin. The mixture is an effective solution to heal spotty skin. This paste, also known as potato mask, cleanses the skin thoroughly and can remove rosacea.

Sulfur Powder
Prepare a paste of the following ingredients
  • 1 teaspoon sulfur powder
  • 2 tablespoons fuller's earth
  • 1 beaten egg white
  • Bottled water
Mix these ingredients properly using sufficient bottled water in order to create a smooth paste. Now apply this sulfur mask on the skin. There is no doubt that this paste is indeed, as patients who have applied it call it an efficient deep cleansing mask. But make sure that your skin is not allergic to sulfur, and thus prevent adverse reactions of sulfur on the skin. An allergy test involves spreading a small amount of paste over the skin. Also apply it on the inner side of the elbow. Now check out for any reactions. If any reaction does not occur, then this sulfur mask can definitely prevent rosacea.

Tomatoes
Prepare a smooth paste of the ingredients mentioned below:
  • 4 good-sized tomatoes
  • Finely ground oatmeal
  • 1 teaspoon clear honey
Before mixing the ingredients take a meshed utensil to separate solid parts of tomato from the liquid. That means one has to first prepare a paste of the 4 tomatoes. Mix all the ingredients mentioned above in this tomato paste. Ensure that the new paste formed is smooth. Now gently rub it over the skin. Allow it to remain on the skin for around 10 minutes, and then use warm water to remove the paste from the skin. It is more of a preventive measure as it clears blocked pores and blackheads.

Oatmeal and Yogurt
A thick paste is prepared by mixing fine oatmeal and yogurt. Apply it on the affected areas of the skin and allow it to dry. One can also add fruit, vegetable and herb extracts that suits the skin type. This is another way that will definitely help to reduce rosacea.

Plums
This recipe uses boiled plums to treat the condition. Mash boiled plums (250 gm) along with a teaspoon of almond oil. Acne sufferers can also use this thick paste. It has been found that the paste is extremely beneficial for rosacea patients, when applied on the skin. It will surely help to alleviate the skin problem.

A proper diet is also essential to heal the patient. Diet for rosacea include avoidance of spicy foods, alcoholic drinks and chocolate as these foods may worsen the skin disease. These home remedies are not at all expensive and can be implemented easily. One must stay away from the sun, as exposure to ultraviolet rays can aggravate the condition. Along with the treatment, a proper diet recommended by the doctor can help to accelerate the recovery process.
