Home Remedies for Removal of Scars
Scars can be temporary or permanent. Getting rid of temporary scars is possible, but permanent scars can only be reduced to some extent with the help of home remedies. This article provides you with a number of home remedies for removal of scars.
Use of Lemon Juice for Removal of Scars
Take a lemon and cut it into two equal halves and directly rub the lemon half over the scar. Lemon has natural bleaching properties that are useful in making the scar marks lighter. On regular application, lemon juice can lighten any kinds of scars to a great extent. It also cleanses the pores of the skin of the area. A mixture of cucumber juice and lemon juice is good for healing scars. Apply it on the scar and leave it for 15-20 minutes and then wash off with cold water.
Use of Fuller's Earth for Removal of Scars
This is a good way of removing scars caused due to burning. You have to make a thick paste of two teaspoons of fuller's earth, a few drops of lemon juice and some rose water. Put this paste on the scar in a thick layer and leave it for around 15 minutes. Then, wash off with cold water. This method is particularly good for acne scar removal.
Use of Sandalwood for Removal of Scars
Sandalwood paste is useful for removing any kind of scars from any types of skin. Make a paste of sandalwood and rose water and apply it over the scar and let it dry up. If the scar marks are severe or old, you can keep the sandalwood paste on it overnight. Then, wash thoroughly with the help of cold water. It is one of the best home remedies for removal of old scars.
Use of Fenugreek Seeds for Removal of Scars
Boil one teaspoonful of fenugreek seeds in a liter of water for five to ten minutes. Let it cool down for some time and then wash the scar using it. A marked improvement can be observed in the condition of the skin where the scar has formed. It should be done at least once a week to obtain the desired result.
Use of Oils for Removal of Scars
Massage a teaspoon of almond oil on the scar daily at least once. If the scar mark is old or very deep you can apply it twice a day. Various other oils like lavender oil, olive oil, cod liver oil, coconut oil, vitamin E oil and other oils are also considered good remedies for removal of old scars.
Skin grafting, surgery and many other techniques are available for getting rid of scars. However, most people prefer to try out home remedies to make scars go away because the methods are simple and does not have any side effects. Moreover, the substances that are used for the home remedies for removal of scars are easily available at home.
