Sesame Seeds combined with Flaxseed: If you notice a lot of phlegm, then this is the right home remedy for your condition. Let 15 grams of sesame seeds soak in 250 ml of water for a couple of hours. After which add one tablespoon of flaxseed, one teaspoon of honey and a small pinch of salt to the sesame concoction. Take the concoction for relief from phlegm.
Garlic: Garlic has been used for treating pneumonia, since the ancient times. It can be used internally as well as externally for treating the condition. Drinking tea made with garlic often proves to be helpful. Alternately, garlic juice can also be consumed. Consuming garlic helps to lower body temperature, pulse rate and helps in improving respiration. Garlic paste can be applied on the chest, which also helps to get rid of congestion.
Fenugreek Seeds: If you have fever, along with pneumonia, then fenugreek seeds is the remedy for you. You can drink tea made from fenugreek seeds for the same. Drinking fenugreek tea helps in producing perspiration, dispelling toxicity and also helps in reducing symptoms of fever.
Honey: Honey is a great medicine for relieving cold, cough, pneumonia, etc. Add one to one and half teaspoon of honey to one glass of lukewarm water. Have 3 to 4 glasses of such water. It will help in soothing the symptoms of pneumonia.
Turpentine Oil: This home remedy has to be used externally for treating pneumonia. The oil has to be massaged on the chest and around the chest area. Ask the patient to wear warm clothes. This will help in reducing pain caused by pneumonia. Camphor can also be mixed with turpentine oil before applying it on the chest.
Hot Water: Drinking hot water at regular intervals throughout the day is recommended for people suffering from pneumonia. Turmeric powder can also be added to the hot water. Hot water should be had at least twice a day, on waking up in the morning and also before going to bed.
Basil Leaves and Black Pepper: Extract juice from basil leaves and mix it with freshly ground black pepper. Have this concoction every 5 to 6 hours to cure pneumonia faster.
