  • Grind Piper longum root to fine powder and have it with a glass of milk and jaggery to tackle sleeplessness.
  • Having a mixture of celery leaf juice, stalks and honey can help in inducing sleep in case of this sleep disorder.
  • Adding a teaspoon of aniseed to boiling water and drinking it can help in inducing some much-needed sleep for people with insomnia.

Although effective, these home remedies cannot substitute actual medical treatment for insomnia. If the ailment persists for a longer period, the person should opt for proper medical diagnosis and treatment procedure. At times, the treatment may require curing some underlying ailment, like asthma, depression or cancer, which can only be treated with proper medical infrastructure.
