Home Office Design - Office Chairs
Your office chair isn’t just a place to sit – you can find office chairs on the market that give off some flair, while remaining a comfy seat for work. Stylish office chairs may not be cheap, but remember that with the high price comes high quality. What should you look for when scouting out a new office chair?

The most lavish material for home office chairs is full-grain or top-grain leather. What’s the difference between the two? Full-grain leather hasn’t had any sort of treatment applied to it, while the top of the leather has been removed from top-grain leather. Both are almost the same in quality – full-grain is only a notch higher because it still has its original top. If you want to give off the appearance of high stature in your home office, a leather chair can definitely leave that impression.

Different styles of office chairs
will give off a certain style in your home office. If you want to feel like the boss in your office, a tufted executive chair will do the trick. There are some top of the line chairs available that have a futuristic look, like bungee-back office chairs. They have comfortable bungees that line the back of the chair to properly support your back. If you’re all about a simple, basic style of chair, try an armless model. They’re lighter than most chair styles and give you more room to spread out.

What colour of chair should you go for? It all depends on what style you’re after, or how much you use your chair in the first place. There are fabric chair out there that are upholstered in many different bright colours, so if you want to showcase your fun side, opt for a bright purple or red seated office chair. Rich brown office chairs give off an expensive, sophisticated look. And of course, you can’t go wrong with a basic black chair. They’re normally the most practical colour choice concerning fabric chairs, but black leather chairs risk staining or wearing over a lengthy time period. If you’re afraid that you’ll stain the chair easily, don’t go with a colour that’s bright and noticeable. Black fabric would be your best choice.

Once you know what style of chair you’re after, make sure your chair has the following features for maximum comfort and practicality:

- Smooth rolling casters (with possible brake) that don’t catch
- Fully adjustable handle that allows you to adjust the seat
- Tilting abilities
- Ergonomic support to keep your body healthy
- Height gas lift for the smoothing height change
- Heavy duty metal base for the best support system
