Hockey World Cup 2010: Day 5 Updates

Feb 28 to March 13, 2010 - Updates and standings as on day 5.
Today we witnessed Pool B matches. Pool B was wide open after each team had finished 2 games each, and this pool is becoming very interesting indeed.

For previous day's happenings and standings, read: South Africa 0 Australia 12
World number 2 Australia thrashed South Africa 12 to nothing. Well, the scoreline says it all. This emphatic wins puts Australia on second place in Pool B, ahead of Spain due to the amazing goal difference.

England 5 Pakistan 2
England continue their good run by beating Asian giant Pakistan 5:2. This win consolidates their position at the top of the pool, and leaves Pakistan in troubled waters as far as qualifying for the semi-final is concerned.

Spain 5 India 2
Hosts India yet again let their home crowd down by going down to the 3rd best side in the world, Spain, by 5:2. India showed flashes of brilliance, but Spain's consistent pressure was too hot to handle.
