Hockey World Cup 2010: Australia Germany Final
FIH Hockey World Cup - Feb 28 to March 13, 2010. We have our finalists, Australia and Germany.

England stood no chance against the strong Germans and lost 1:4. Germany have been pretty consistent throughout the tournament, and quite rightly deserve a place in the finals. On the other hand, England started off the tournament very well, but began losing their way at the very end. The goal scorers for Germany were Montag, Korn, Haner and Butt. Smith pulled one back for England.
Netherlands 1 Australia 2 (Semi-final 2)
Australia beat the Netherlands by a slim margin of 2:1 to make it to the final. We have to agree, besides the one loss in the 1st match, Australia look to be the team of the tournament, the way they have gone about demolishing the opposition. Doerner and Turner scored for Australia, while Taekema netted one for the Netherlands.
Canada 3 Pakistan 2 (Position 11 - 12 Playoff )
It is so unbelievable that Pakistan went down even to Canada 2:3, to finish their world cup campaign on a dismal note. Canada thus took 11th place, a feat they have achieved just for the 3rd time ever. While Pakistan finished last in the tournament, their worst standing ever in a world cup. And this has shaken up Pakistan hockey, with their federation sacking the management and the selection committee, while the whole team of players went on to resign.
Today's matches will be for positions 5 to 10.
New Zealand vs South Africa (Position 9 - 10 Playoff )
Argentina vs India (Position 7 - 8 Playoff )
Korea vs Spain (Position 5 - 6 Playoff )
My predictions: Spain, India and New Zealand.
