Hockey World Cup 2010: Day 6 Updates

Feb 28 to March 13, 2010 - Updates and standings as on day 6.
A day comprising Pool A matches. The Netherlands consolidate their lead at the top, reaffirming their status as one of the top teams in the world. For more about field hockey, do read field hockey rules.

For previous day's happenings and standings, read: Korea 1 New Zealand 2
This was a bit of a surprise, Korea going down to New Zealand 1:2. With this result, New Zealand have overtaken Korea on the points table, and are still in contention for a semi-final berth.

Netherlands 6 Canada 0
As expected, the Netherlands steamrolled Canada. The result was not a doubt, just the margin was. And 6:0 is a pretty good win. The Netherlands are now sitting pretty at the top of this pool.

Germany 4 Argentina 3
Argentina nearly pulled off the unimaginable here, and had they taken all the chances that came their way, we would have seen a real upset here. Nevertheless, Germany scraped through 4:3 and took home 3 full points.
