High School Reunion Ideas
If you are planning to have a reunion, you must be definitely looking for some nice reunion ideas. This article will give you adequate information on some ideas that you can use for your high school reunion.

Reunion Themes
Just like any other party, planning is the most important aspect while organizing a reunion. Moreover, when it comes to reunions, you have to take more efforts because before planning the reunion, you have to search the whereabouts of your classmates as many of them may have relocated for work or other personal reasons. Hence, reunion planning should begin 1½ to 2 years before the actual reunion day. This will give you ample time to do all the arrangements including finding your classmates, choosing a venue, collecting money, sending invitations, planning the menu, activities, etc. So, if you are getting confused as to where to start for your reunion party, here are some ideas that can be included in your planning process.
Contacting your Classmates
This is supposed to be the most difficult part of planning a reunion. However, with the presence of Internet, contacting your classmates may not be very difficult. You can first check on popular social networking sites for former classmates and friends. Also, classmates who are still in contact with you, can help by finding the whereabouts of the rest of your classmates. Another great idea would be to start a reunion website where people will not only know about the reunion, but also can learn about what each of their classmate is doing, how they look, about their life, etc. The website is an easy way of posting information about the reunion like the date, venue, theme, activities, etc., thus aiding in creating the mood of the reunion, much before the actual reunion day.
Financial Planning
Financial planning is an important aspect of the reunion party. To decide the budget of the party, you have to first decide what kind of party you want to organize. For instance whether you want to have a one day affair or want to have the reunion for an entire weekend. One must remember that apart from the usual expenses, there are also chances to have unforeseen expenses. Once the budget has been decided, a provision should be made where everyone can deposit their share of money. For instance, setting up a bank account where 2-3 people would be required to sign to take out the money is a good way of handling the finances.
Theme
The next step would be selecting a theme for the reunion. The theme of the party should be reflected in every aspect of the planning process, including the website, invitations, decorations, etc. The theme of the reunion should reflect the personality of the entire class or may be something that occurred during the year when you were in high school. A great theme for 25th year reunion would be to recreate the era when you were in your high school. For instance, if you were in high school during the 70s, having a theme that reflects the fashion sense of that time would be a great idea. On the other hand, if you are looking for 50th year reunion, a Hawaiian theme would be a really good idea. Arranging for a cruise or a vacation as a reunion party would also be a wonderful idea.
Activities
Arranging for some activities for the reunion is a great way of having fun. However, a mistake which many people make is bombarding the whole party with many activities. One must understand that most people attend the reunion to meet their old friends and catch up with each others life. In such a scenario, too many activities is definitely unwanted. Hence, it is important to have just a few activities and leave the rest of the time to socialize. As many people will be meeting each other after a long time, arranging some ice breaker games can help in making them feel comfortable. Apart from this, you can also arrange for a music band which can play songs that were popular during the time you were in high school.
Some other things that you have to include in your planning sessions are the location, invitations, menu, etc. It will be a great idea to form a reunion community of a few people who can take responsibilities of different parts of the event and coordinate with each other to make the reunion a success. I assure you, with proper planning and organization, you can turn your reunion into an event which will be cherished by all your classmates forever. All the best!
