Was rock and roll ever easy?
Were high school days
So long ago?
Please don’t say so!
I remember
Walking to school
Hopping to a rock and roll tune.
Dreaming dreams of idols
And the boys at school.
Where did those days go
No one told me
That they would roll by
So quickly.
No one told me
I’d no longer be sixteen.
Where did all those
Between years go?
But the rock and roll survived
And I’m still alive
So I’ll hop and bop
To the tunes of my youth.
Remembering how it was
Reminding myself how it is
Rocking into the future
Still feeling sixteen
And not in-between.
