Hidden World of the Amulet 3

Read what happens to Kat after she reads aloud the inscription on the back of the mysterious Amulet...
Katrina was flying through time and space; everything was too dark for her to get a clear view on and she had no physical feeling of anything in her body, it was like an out-of-body experience but there was no visible body for her to be out of. She was starting to get a little sick from the 'ride' and a thought suddenly shot through her. What if this would never end, would she keep flying around forever?

As if the invisible force that carried her had heard her silent question, her vision all of a sudden brightened and she found herself lying on something soft, the smell of grass hitting her nostrils, making them flare with activity. Slowly, not sure how to react, Kat lifted her head, blinking as her eyes adjusted to the bright light and she took in her surroundings.

At first Kat thought she was dreaming when she saw where she was. She was lying in the softest green grass where beautiful white flowers blossomed amongst. As her eyes traveled further she saw a green forest about 30 feet in front of her, its trees growing tall and majestic high above her.

A trickling sound made Kat turn her head to the left where she took in the sight of a small creek which flowed smoothly right by her leg. The water was crystal clear and Kat as eased closer she could easily see the sandy bottom, only a few feet below the surface. Looking down in the water she noticed how messed up her hair was and she had a single strand of grass on her cheek. Kat removed the piece of grass and lowered her hands into the water, feeling chills running through her as the icy water came in contact with her bare skin.

Cupping her hands, Kat gathered up some water and splashed her face and she grinned for the first time as she felt refreshed and more awake. She lowered her hands a second time and drank some water, but as she looked down at her reflection again, something caught her attention. She looked up in the sky, shading her eyes with her hand and she gasped in amazement.

The sun was shining brightly on the cloudless sky, or to be more correct, the suns, plural. There were two big yellow eyes of light looking down upon her and Kat found herself laughing. "This is not real!" She exclaimed out loud, getting to her feet and throwing her hands up in the air.

She looked at the trees and ran towards them, her hands lifted in front of her as she got to the tree nearest her, coming in contact with the rough bark, and as she touched it she let out another, yet more nervous laugh.

"Oh my god, it is real." She sat down with her back against the trunk and breathed heavily. "What the hell happened to me? Where am I?" She blinked, a single tear hit her cheek and Kat wiped her eyes vigorously with the backside of her hand. "The Amulet." She said and with some support from the tree, she got to her feet and walked back to the place where she had landed, easily shown by the bended grass shaped by her body.

She searched the area, but the amulet wasn't there. It was not in either of her pockets and she even checked the bottom of the creek, but with no luck. She sat by the bank, her hands hiding the lost look on her face.

Kat didn't have a clue how long she sat there; it wasn't like she was in a hurry to get anywhere, at least not anywhere but back to the busy streets of New York. But seeing as she didn't know where in the world she was, or in what other kind of strange world she was and having no amulet, there wasn't much she could do at the moment.

Shaking her head a few times trying to get a clear view on things, she stood up, her feet only a slight wobbly and she took another look around. The forest t the right edged along the creek as far as her eyesight could tell, though she didn't have much knowledge about north and south directions, and the double up on the suns didn't help either.

Across the creek she saw a beautiful landscape covered with more of the luscious looking green grass and the beautiful white flowers. Kat sighed, but then an odd noise made her look up the creek and she stiffened.

There was a shape flowing below the clear surface, coming closer towards her yet she couldn't quite determine what it could be, but not knowing where in the universe she was, it could easily be anything.

Taking a few steps backwards, away from the water and closer towards the trees, Kat prepared herself to flee, but then the shape broke through the glistening surface, and arising from the cold water came a half naked guy and Kat heard herself gasp.
