Here We Go Again! USA Presidential Campaign 2008

As a former TV investigative reporter for Post Newsweek TV, this is the beginning of what I use to cover. I remember my first campaign that I covered before going in TV with Post Newsweek.
I was in Gainesville, Florida at a local radio station when Governor Nelson Rockefeller came to our city. My boss sent me to cover it. I arrived at the airport where out on the tarmac set the Governor's plane and also the media plane. He met with the reporters from the region and did a press conference. As it was wrapping up he happen to note that I had not asked any questions. He came up to me and asked why.

I told him that I was only a early 20s something radio reporter and I'm sure that my questions would not interest him. He looked me directly in the eye and said: "Young man don't you ever think that way again! You remember this from now on: Every person in this world puts his clothes on the same way regardless if they are rich or poor. You are to them and me as important as anyone else here today." I have never forgotten those words!

I was blown away! As I was about to ask my questions, an aide ran up to Governor Rockefeller and told him the plane was getting ready to leave. He politely told the aide that he was going into the terminal with me to do an interview and he bet that the plane was NOT going to be taking off without him!

I was further blown away when Rockefeller said that we needed to head for the terminal and get off our jackets and get comfortable to do the interview. We did just. After taking off our coats we began. He was fascinated by my questions. He even asked me to fly with him to Jacksonville and finish the interview on the plane. I explained that I needed to get the interview back to the radio station and I would have to decline the offer. He thanked me and headed to the plane.

I called my boss and told him that I was coming in with an exclusive interview with the Governor. He was thrilled until I told him that he had offered for me to continue the interview on the trip to Jacksonville, which just happen to be my hometown. You could have heard my boss for two counties yelling at me!

Those were the good ole days of campaigning and covering campaigns. Today we use mostly the Internet and that is what I have decided to do by starting with my partners Where Voters Gather. Here you can go to forums and you will see the most likely topics for 2008. Also you will be able to vote on who you want to have as the next President. There will be other polls too.

We wanted to set this up so that we could gather 5,000,000 or more people together on this site to express their opinions. As a newsman I know about the usual polls through the press. Usually a sampling of 2000 people. Also I'm sure that you would not be too surprised to learn these samplings could be biased.

So PLEASE go to Where Voters Gather and sign up. Then tell others so that we can get our 5,000,000 voters together!
