Here and Now

This was a comment I left on Zenzii X's poem, Somewhere. A while ago I would read poems and leave a poem about theirs as a comment. This is one I found.
The rain, the rain, full of sorrow and pain
What is the price of playing its game?
Cut out my heart and slam it on the table
The game shall begin, I'm ready and able

You wanted to stop, how can it be so?
For now is the time for me to show
You what you have just turned down
I'll make you see before you leave town

I am the one who fought by your side
Against the ocean's ferocious high tide
Afterward we held arms open wide
But somehow that instant your love had died

But here I still stand with my goofy smirk
Still acting like that fun, obnoxious jerk
Because everyday I still want to laugh
My soul is something you can't break in half
