Her Locked Heart

Comment.
A lock on her heart is unbreakable. Her trust in others is none. Trust yourself and only yourself because once you believe in others, your trust is bound to be broken. Try to love only those of your family because family is always there no matter what. Do not whine, do not get jealous, try not to worry, and never ask for what is not yours.

The simple rules keep her in tack. She knows she has little chance of passing any challenging test. She is not ugly but she is not beautiful. Another rule of hers is to accept her image for what it is.

Do not get jealous of what other girls have that you don't, for it is a waste of time. Focus on school and doing well because that's what will make your life. These were her simple rules. The only rules she ever lived by. That is until she met him. He came in and she just threw him the key. She was asking for whatever he could give her. Even if he could only give her his words of love. Her love for him was so bright it shone in her eyes like stars.

She knew what love meant. It meant she had to trust in someone other than herself. She had to throw away the lock to her heart. She had to take the chance to get hurt. She found it hard not to get jealous. Jealousy left a bitter taste in her mouth and she hated herself for tasting it. She hated jealousy. She hated the feeling love had brought her.

He tells her she is beautiful and that she needs to stop denying it. She needs to stop being so whatever about life. To take chances and live her life without fear of rejection.

She tried not to worry. Worry kept her awake at night. It gave her terrifying nightmares of never seeing him again. All these new feelings came to her and she was being overwhelmed. She never spoke of this to anyone for they would only turn to her and says "You are too young for love." That she found was hilarious.

Did love really come with an age? To her it did not and that it would stay. One day maybe she'll have enough courage to share this with her friends and family but until then it'll stay forever hidden in her scarred heart.
