Her Guardian Angel - Chapter 3

Jason gets very arrogant and Kaylee plans to shut him up.
I ran to Lacey and saw her on the ground with Corey trying to help her up.

"Jason, I warned you that if you hurt Lacey that you would pay so after school, it’s on." I said glaring at him before walking to Lacey. Jason grabbed my arm and turned me to face him.

"It’s Corey isn’t it? The third angel?" He asked furiously. I looked at him.

"No… he’s human, it’s someone else… that I’m close to…" I whispered, scared for Jamie.
"Who?" Jason asked still cranky but curious, I looked towards Jamie and Jason followed my gaze.

"He’s in my class and talks to me all the time, he’s not the angel, you’re just protecting someone... like Corey." He glared at Corey who was walking Lacey to a set of seats to sit down.

"No! He’s not the angel, I swear! If he finds out about Maddie and I we’re screwed. Please." I begged him not to do anything to Corey. Jason shoved me to the ground and started walking towards Corey and Lacey.

"Hey, do you know anything about angels?" Jason asked them. Lacey and Corey were confused.

"Angels? They don’t exist." Lacey told Jason while still wiping the tears from her eyes, the pain of the slap must have been horrible.

"Well, Corey, what do you think?" Jason smirked thinking he was close to figuring out who the secret angel was.

"I dunno, never really thought about it." Corey shrugged, his arm still around Lacey. Jason grabbed him by the shirt and lifted him off the seat.

"Really? That’s strange coz I know two angels that go to this school and I just need to find the third." Jason growled.

"What?!" Corey asked shocked.

"Who?" Lacey asked standing up and looking around. I stood up and Maddie ran over to help me up while Jamie stood nearby watching carefully, I wiped the dirt off my clothes and Maddie and I glared at Jason when he turned to us. Lacey followed his gaze and her jaw dropped when she saw the angels Jason had been talking about.

"Maddie and Kaylee? They aren’t angels, that’s ridiculous." Lacey started laughing and Corey laughed to, which made Jason drop him but Corey landed on his feet.

School finished pretty quickly and Lacey went to meet Corey at the front gate, meanwhile I was already at the front gate waiting for Jason as I had told him at lunch. I watched as Corey and Lacey left in Corey’s car. I felt a tap on my shoulder, turned and saw Jamie.

"Oh, you scared me. Jason is on his way so be careful." I warned before giving him a kiss.
"I’ll act like a bystander waiting to be picked up... but for now..." He kissed me then smiled as he hugged me. I pushed him away when I spotted Jason and whispered why I had pushed him away before Jason got to me.

"So what is going to happen? We gonna go to a field or park and battle it out with our awesome powers?" Jason groaned.

"Coz I’ve killed so many angels that way that it’s not fun anymore." He smirked while I gritted my teeth.

"I’ll meet you at Saint Vincent Forest at sunset. The stakes are that if I win, you leave all of us alone. That includes Lacey, Corey, Jamie, Maddie and me. You win, I’ll tell you who the third angel is. Deal?" I asked outstretching my hand. Jason smiled.

"Deal." He said as he shook my hand.

I got to the forest clearing before Jason did, I had Maddie with me for a precaution and we were back-to-back to see where he would come from and make sure he couldn’t get a free shot. Maddie yelled and fell to the ground behind me.

"Miss me?" Jason asked as he stood at-the-ready. I kept my eyes on Jason while I knelt next to Maddie to make sure she was ok.

"She’s fine, just knocked out... to make it a fair fight of course because 2 on 1 isn’t very fair." He smiled. I stood up again... and the fight began.
