Hemp Friendship Bracelets

Making a Simple Hemp Friendship Bracelet

Things required

• Hemp
• Masking tape

Method

To make this simple hemp bracelet design, first you need to cut the hemp into two equal 108 inch parts. Now fold the two strands of hemp at 18 inches from one end. Gather all the folded strands of hemp together and secure it into a knot that is around 4 inches from the first fold. Next secure this knot to the edge of your work table. Now pull the two middle strands of the hemp taunt and tape them with masking tape to the table making sure that they are in tension. Now you are left with two pliable hemp strands on either side of the two middle strands.

Take the left hemp strand and cross it over the secure and taunt middle strand and pull it under the right hand hemp strand. Next place the extreme right hand strand under the taunt middle strand and inside the loop created by the left hand strand. Now cross the new right hand strand over the middle strands and under the left strand. Place the left hand strand under the taunt middle strand and inside the loop created by the right hand strand. Continue in this way until you come to the end of both the left and right hemp strands. Secure the hemp strands with a tight knot and remove the masking tape.

Making a Hemp Friendship Bracelet with Beads

Things required

• 2 feet of Hemp twine
• 10 large oval glass beads with large holes (in a color of your choice)
• Pair of sharp scissors
• White glue

Method

First cut the hemp twine into 6 feet length and then fold it in half. Make a looped knot at one end of the hemp twine and thread a large oval glass bead through the hemp twine. Make a knot after you have threaded the hemp twine, making sure that the bead does not fall out of the knot. Make another knot with the hemp twine and thread a big oval glass bead. Secure this bead with a knot. Continue threading the beads in this way until you come to the end of the hemp twine. Cut the hemp with a pair of sharp scissors and fold the frayed end with white glue. Allow the glue to dry completely. Your beaded hemp bracelet is complete and you can gift it or wear it yourself.
