Hello. Goodbye - Chapter Nineteen

Lily and Jamie finally get time together.
Chapter Nineteen.

"What are you two giggling about?"
"Who we'd paint naked."
"I choose, Gerard Butler," Lily beamed.
"Ew, he's too old."
"For you!" Lily teased Libby.
Jamie came up to Lil and asked, "How about me?"
"You? Hmmm... "
Lily pretended to think about it.
She made eye contact with Libby and they simultaneously shook their heads, "Naw!"
The two laughed while Jamie gave Lily a bear hug from behind.
"And why not?"
"You may be the sight of Adonis himself, but I'm not sharing you with the rest of the world."
"I was thinking more along the lines of, eww he's my brother," Libby gagged.
"Go back to your science labs, Lib!"

Lily laughed as she was held lovingly in Jamie's arms.

The girls went out to buy some dinner at the pizza place a few blocks away. When they got back, they found Jamie sitting at the reception desk.

"I'm starved."
"Let's eat."

Lily served the siblings around the makeshift dining table and the girls updated Jamie on their latest vocal lesson.

"You just wait, she'll be awesome. I know it!"
"Are the teachers singing anything at the finals?"
"I don't know... No one mentioned anything. But it does sound like as good plan."

They arrived home late that night. Everyday was a late night for Jamie and that's how it would have to be for the next few weeks.

Jamie and Lily changed for bed.
As they lay drowsily awake in each others arms and softly chatted, Lily yawned and suggested, "I should bring my roommate, Bobby to see your work. He'd love it."
Lily smirked as she felt Jamie stiffen.
"He?"
"Yeah. I didn't mention I room with a man?"
"No..."
"Do I detect the jealousy monster?"

She stopped him just as he tried to disentangle his arm out from under her neck of tangled hair.

"He's just a roommate."
"Whatever, right? I have no claim on you. Nor do you, me."
This was news to her.
Oh no, he was serious.
"What? That's stupid. Do you honestly believe that?" She whispered infuriated.

Suddenly, talk about Bobby was forgotten and it was what Jamie said that irked her.

Of course he didn't believe that this meant nothing to him. Just...

"I didn't mean what I said. I do care. I can't believe I just tried to pull off being blaze," he confessed.

She ran a finger down his jaw line as he looked down at her and silkily ran his hand over her tummy.

"I like you when you're jealous. But love you better when you like me. Oh, and I should probably tell you Bobby's gay, before we get into another argument," she whispered alluringly in his ear.

They stayed intertwined like that all night and when he woke he found himself watching her intently.

He wished they could stay like this forever.

Feeling the weight of his stare, she peeped one eye open.

She wished they could like this forever.

"Morning, Sunshine," he leaned down to kiss her cheek where a bead of light shone through the crack in the curtains.

She yawned and stretched out as much as she could on her side of the bed.

"Time to go to school already?"
"In a couple hours."
"Ok," she replied.

Resting her head on his chest, she savored the quiet moment.

The door burst open just as Lily was about to fall asleep again.

It was Gabby.
"What are you doing here?" She asked testily.
"Gab!" Jamie warned.
Her face frozen in a scowl was met with his frosty instructions, "Go get ready for school. Wake up the other two if they're not up. We're leaving in forty-five minutes."
"Hey..." Lily softly stroked his face.
"It's ok... Let's get ready for today."
"I wish we could stay here forever."
"Focus..."
"Ha! I'm tired of it."
"When did you get to be impatient?"
"Apparently since the day I realized what I'd been missing all this time..."
"What?"
"You. But you kept pushing me away."

She threw a pillow at him.
"Get ready now..."
"See... There you go again," he feigned a hurt look.
Throwing her hands in the air, she made for the bathroom and got ready for work.
