Suddenly Nico began glowing. He was surrounded in green and we all stared at him in wonder. Roxy held his hand and then slowly managed to restore her energy. She quickly opened a new portal. My eyes widened. I never knew Healers could actually restore energy!
***Think later, escape now. I can feel Yvonne's presence along with Darla, Terra and Icahn***
Nico walked through the portal first and I followed him. Suddenly Darkness wrapped itself around Draco's waist. Draco immediately let go of my hand and pushed me into the portal. Roxy screamed as her hand was slowly getting covered by dark tendrils. Draco yelled, "ROXY! GET IN AND CLOSE IT!" Roxy leaped into the portal. I immediately summoned Fire and burnt the tendrils around Roxy. She leapt into the portal. DRACO!
***I will survive. LEAVE***
I was about to throw a fireball at Draco to free him when Icahn appeared and immediately froze it. Terra tried to pull me out but Roxy had already begun closing it. Nico immediately started throwing green bolts at the Elders. Whoa! Healers can attack with their abilities? Icahn tried to jump through the portal but I immediately blocked his way with a huge wall of Poison Ivy. Draco kept struggling with the darkness wrapped around him and Yvonne appeared. Darla immediately looked into Draco's eyes. The last thing I saw before the portal closed was Draco unconscious in Yvonne's arms.I frowned when I suddenly heard Draco in my head.
***I will return***
You could be a little cooler and go with the famous Arnold Schwarzenegger line 'I'll be back.'
***My last memory of you and you had to ruin it.......***
Then his voice trailed off. I moaned and Nico held me around the waist. He immediately unfurled his huge dark wings and covered me with it. Roxy covered herself with her own black wings. I lay covered and we fell out into this huge park.
Nico's wings disappeared and Roxy looked around. "Dudes....We are in such deep shit right now." I frowned at her language and cleared my throat. "Screw that! We're doomed!" complained Nico.
"What? Why? Where are we?" I asked bewildered. Nico looked at me in shock and Roxy turned and said solemnly, "Where we were never meant to be: Earth."
"EARTH? That's rule number 2 in the Angel guidebook! NEVER STEP ON EARTH WITHOUT AN ELDER!" I screamed. Roxy rolled her eyes and muttered, "Carma, on Earth we're as hopeless as humans. We can't show our true abilities. We need to find shelter soon. So it's not like we are breaking a rule." I nearly fainted at the thought of that. As an Angel I was made to follow rules and here I was breaking the SECOND rule in the Angel handbook!
"Technically Carma, this shouldn't be much trouble for you since you broke a superbly important rule too." I looked at Nico quizzically and he continued, "You kept the fact of being a Healer hidden didn't you? Being a Healer and not telling the Elders is definitely breaking a rule." Roxy burst out laughing, "And you thought being on Earth was bad? Why do you think you've never seen Nico before? He stays out of the way of the Elders. They didn't know about his Healing abilities and thought he could only control Shadows."
I heard about that ability. I don't really know much about it but what I do know is that people who control Shadows are normally kept in the deepest parts of hell. Once they summon Shadows they become as scary as a fully fledged evil Demon. I flinched a little when Nico put his hand on my shoulder.
He sighed and said, "Carma, Didn't you know Draco was a Shadow user too? Why do you think the Elder's arranged a bonding between you two? Stella made sure you would balance him. But what Stella didn't know was that Yvonne had decided she wanted me to be your mate since I am an incredibly skilled Shadow user. She was afraid of me taking over the dark realm. BUT what Yvonne and Stella didn't know was that Levi, my brother the master of illusions wanted to bond with you thinking it would make him more powerful. All he can control is Earth."
I backed away a little. How did they know so much about me? Why was I always put in trouble? I unfurled my wings and fluffed them. Roxy asked, "Do you intend on running away?" Nico shrugged and said, "Well, I was going to teach you more about your Healing abilities but if you intend on running away then......"
"I just need some air. I swear I'll come back but where will you be?" I asked. Nico looked at Roxy and she shrugged. Nico then looked at me and suddenly hugged me. "What are you trying to do?" I muttered. My voice was muffled against him as he was hugging me tightly. Then he let go of me and smiled triumphantly. I looked down at myself and screamed. I was covered in tattoos! Roxy chuckled a little but walked towards me to take a closer look at my tattoos.
Nico smirked, "Wherever you are, just ask to be taken back to your master. The shadows will guide you."
"MY MASTER?" I yelled. Nico nodded eagerly and then held my chin so I was looking up into his eyes. If it weren't for the fact that his eyes were an electric blue, I would have thought he was Draco. I stayed frozen as if I were bound by the tattoos. I averted my eyes and murmured, "If these tattoos don't go off once I get back...."
Nico smiled wickedly and then leaned towards me. He bent down and slowly whispered into my ears, "You better come back. Don't make me come after you. Trust me; playing with me is not wise." I stuck my tongue out at him and immediately took off. I looked down at Nico who was still smirking from our little encounter and Roxy who had folded her arms defiantly.
I smiled a little and flew higher so I was hidden a little by the clouds. I did not need prying human eyes to see me. I sighed happily as I felt the cold wind hit me. I loved flying this high in the air. I looked at my arms which were covered in various dark tattoos. They were designs like the sea waves and fire flames. On the other were swirly patterns that resembled the clouds and tendrils that resembled Earth. Who did he think he was? Stupid Shadow controller. If another Angel were to see me now, I would be considered a turncoat!
I looked down and found myself over a beach. I looked closer and saw a bonfire. My tummy rumbled and it definitely looked like a party. Yummy! Who knew humans would begin partying the moment Earth was restored? I landed in a tall tree and hid in the branches. No one had seen me. A whole group of humans were gathered around the bonfire. All of them were laughing, drinking, eating or dancing. I looked at each one carefully. They all looked happy and did not look like much of a threat. I carefully camouflaged myself with my Earth ability and then continued observing them. If we were going to be on Earth we had to learn to be human.
Gosh, why in the world did girls dance that close to boys? I frowned in disapproval. I quickly brushed that thought away because if I thought like that, I would apparently never fit in with that group. I kept looking around when something or rather, someone caught my eye. He was sitting in the sand, sipping his drink and he looked like he was deep in thought. I wasn't sure as his back was facing me. Suddenly, he turned and looked right at me.
The wind kept blowing around him, his green eyes locked on mine and his hair brushing his forehead very now and then.
I froze but slowly calmed myself down. There was no freaking way he could see me. I had made sure I had camouflaged myself. Only when I was ready I would go and 'party' with the humans. I frowned and adjusted my hair a little self-consciously when he still kept looking at me. I stared back at him. When he didn't say anything I was sure he was simply staring off into space. I giggled a little and then on an impulse, I stuck my tongue out at him. He immediately jumped a little and his drink spilled over.
I burst out laughing at his response when I suddenly froze again. He would only be able to react in such a way if he had seen me....
