I collapsed on my bed. I had just spent a WEEK here. Just a SINGLE freaking week and I was about to kill myself. If I thought this was going to be a little easier than I thought I was sadly mistaken. Icahn was a sadist in disguise. Oh wait. I knew he was a sadist.
I groaned in pain and buried my head in my pillow, screaming in frustration. I heard someone walk in and I quickly sat up. Icahn stood at the doorway and smiled maliciously, "How about we arrange another training to unleash your pent up frustration?" I smiled innocently, "Nope. I'm just wondering what I ever did to deserve this." "Well, it was your choice." "I DIDN'T EXPECT THIS!!"
Icahn shrugged, "Fine. Since I'm nice, I'll give you a day off. I have to attend a meeting with the Elders. Apparently your little soulmates are having tantrums because the Smarty Pants that they are, they realized I lied about me allowing visitors into my realm." I raised my eyebrows, "If this is your definition of nice, I NEVER want to get on your bad side."
Icahn smirked and walked out, calling over his shoulder, "Have fun." I collapsed on my bed again going over this week's torture. On the very first day, he took me for a tour around his castle, leaving ME to fend for myself when I got attacked by the many snow men or random icicle spirits roaming around his castle. On the second day, he introduced me to the help he had. I was surprised to see Icahn had company since all of them were quite nice until they became my battle opponents. Day three, four, five, six and seven were all worse than the other. Each day, he trained me from dawn to sunset, no breaks. At night, I would just feast on the glorious food laid out and snore away till I was awoken by Lucy, the kind maid who was quite the opponent when needed.
I cuddled under my blanket and fell asleep. I woke up by myself in the morning to see the sun slowly rising. I stood up and changed into some comfy denim shorts, boots and a tank top. I kept myself warm with a new trick Icahn taught me. I walked out to find the dining hall. I was still a little afraid of Icahn's castle, though all the snow men and weird spirits who lived in here were now okay with me since I defeated them. As I walked along, I encountered two snow spirits. I smiled and they followed me. "Icahn's gone!" whispered one. "You must be relieved!" whispered the other. I had learned not to gossip about Icahn to his own snow men or spirits. The last time I did that, Icahn made sure I went without dinner!
He said I wasn't allowed to be ungrateful. Lucy hid some dinner for me but later revealed that Icahn had permitted her to bring it up. I stretched my arms and just smiled at them. I skipped along to the kitchen and peeped in. Lucy and the others were all up. The moment I peeped in they all stopped and smiled. I slid into the kitchen and Lucy put breakfast in front of me. "You've been changing honey.....don't let the cold get to you."
"I won't! Icahn can't freeze my own heart Lucy! Don't worry." I smiled at her, willing myself to emit happiness to her. Lucy asked, "So what do you intend to do today?" I shrugged, "Not sure...I'll probably explore Icahn's realm." Lucy looked a little afraid, "Are you sure? I mean.....will you be okay?" I nodded, ate breakfast quickly and walked out. I went outside, surrounding myself with a large heat aura. Every time I took a step, I melted the snow.
I began running around a certain patch of snow to melt it completely. Once I could see the soil underneath, I leaned down and felt the fresh, warm soil. I missed seeing flowers and trees around here. I summoned my Earth element and began sprouting a garden. Slowly, trees began growing quickly and little flowers erupted. I grinned and stepped back to see my work. I protected the patch with permanent heat. I walked back into the castle and decided to take a look at the seventh floor which Icahn had forbidden me from entering. Thankfully, I knew how to sense if a living creature stood behind a locked door. I needed to find the room with the Scrolls of my Memory. Making sure none of the staff or the snow men or spirits saw me; I leaped into the air, spreading my wings. I was planning to take a shortcut. I flew all the way to the highest tower of the castle.
Once I got there, I stood on the window sill and began melting the iron bars and glass. I grinned at my own powers. Maybe all this training was finally paying off.
I turned up the heat, nearly shattering the glass but the iron melted completely. I was surprised at how fast it happened. I stepped into the room and then quickly healed the window. I didn't need a random person noticing the broken/melted window. The room was lit up by the sun's rays. I gasped in wonder. The room was so pretty! The sun's rays lit up each and every corner and the room was actually clean! I looked around quickly making sure this wasn't Icahn's room because if it was, he surely had traps in here.
I looked around but there was nothing in the room except for a cupboard, a bookshelf filled with old books, a big bed, the window and the door. There wasn't anything special about it but I knew Icahn hadn't shown me this room. I loved it....!
I could even see my own garden from up here! Maybe I could beg him after another week for this room. I hopped around quietly onto the bed. I bounced on it for a few seconds till I opened the cupboard. It was completely barren. I shut it and then turned to look at the books on the bookshelf. I fingered the ruby red one. It was dusty. I pulled it out and blew on it. It was just a huge book on history. I sighed and put it back. There was something in this room that kept me happy. I sat back on the bed, looking at it wondering why this room felt so special. I frowned.....maybe it had to do with my memories.
I quickly jumped off the bed and opened the cupboard. I was right....there were two drawers! I opened one drawer slowly, hoping to find something but there was nothing. I opened the second drawer and nearly jumped in excitement. Right in the corner laid a purple book. It wasn't dusty which meant, someone had touched it recently! I was about to open it when I heard Lucy scream for me from the third floor. I was located right on the seventh floor but I still heard her. I strained my ears, my hands itching to touch the purple book when I heard her welcome Icahn.
I was so dead if he found me up here. I groaned. If I were going to get into trouble, I might as well do it completely. I opened the purple book quickly and nearly dropped it in shock. Right on the first page was a picture of Carl and me! I quickly put the purple book back into place and began melting the window. Once I was out, I healed it again and flew down to my garden. I pretended to fiddle with the berries on the bushes when Icahn came up to me.
I smiled at him and he glared, "What do you think you're doing?"
"I am growing a garden! I miss the flowers!" I whined. Icahn frowned at the flowers and shook his head in disappointment, "And I thought you would be practicing in the battle dome on your day off." I stuck my tongue out at him and began plucking at a few mulberries. My heart was actually going into overdrive. If Icahn even suspected me of going up to the forbidden seventh floor, I was never going to get my memories back. I smiled at Icahn who was still glaring at me, "Would you like some mulberries?"
He shook his head and then said, "You have visitors. Maybe you could offer mulberries to them." He walked away calmly and then Draco appeared. I stood there helplessly, holding a handful of mulberries. Nico followed him. Roxy and Matt followed them. I just kept looking at them in shock while they looked at me in amazement. "What? Why are all of you staring at me like that?"
"We expected you to be shivering and starved in some corner. Not eating berries in SHORTS in ICAHN'S REALM!" yelled Roxy. I grinned at her and then frowned, "Hey...where's Carl?" Roxy looked sad and Matt answered, "Carl said he didn't want to see you yet. He might visit next week."
From the tone of Matt's voice, I knew Carl wouldn't visit next week, or any week for that matter. I looked down at the ground to prevent anyone from seeing the hurt in my eyes. I blinked rapidly to prevent any tears from falling. Why would Carl not come to visit me? I know I was over reacting but still.....
Icahn walked in right then and said, "Lucy said she baked some chocolate chip cookies. You guys move in, I need to talk to Carma." Once everyone went in, Icahn walked over to me, "I shouldn't have just saved your ass back there. You're growing gardens in my realm. Before you misunderstand, I just didn't want them to see you cry because if you did, they would have an excuse to take you out of my realm." My head snapped up to look at Icahn, "Why won't Carl come to see me?" Icahn began walking to the castle and said, "It's for your own good. Carl just feels the less he sees the better."
"You didn't threaten him did you?" I asked. My question just remained unanswered as Icahn walked into the castle, not looking back.
