Fleiss was pulled over at Thursday at approximately 9 a.m. about 60 miles west of Las Vegas in Parhump, Nevada. Police were responding to reports of a possible drunk driver. Officers searched Fleiss' vehicle and reportedly found the pills. Fleiss' passenger, John Owen, was arrested for possession of marijuana and for being under the influence of a controlled substance. The sheriff's office said that Fleiss "was found to have prescription narcotics on her person, not in a prescription bottle, and could produce no evidence that the prescription pain medication had been prescribed to her." Fleiss also did not have her driver’s license of her and was subsequently arrested.
Fleiss and Owen two were taken into custody and booked at the Nye County Detention Center. She was booked on suspicion of driving without a license, possession of dangerous drugs without a prescription, being under the influence of a controlled substance and driving under the influence of a controlled substance. Fleiss’ bail was set at $1,367 and Owen’s was set at $1,264. She later told the press that she did have Vicodin in the car and that she has to produce the prescription in court. She reportedly said, "I’m squeaky clean this time."
Fleiss is no stranger to the dark side of the law. Fleiss, known as the "Hollywood Madam," was convicted in 1997 on pandering and tax evasion charges in connection with her prostitution ring. She spent three years in jail. She lives in Crystal, Nevada and owns a laundry service called Dirty Laundry. She is also reportedly opening a brothel where male escorts will be available to interested women.
