Locklear’s publicist released a statement Tuesday that read, "Heather has been dealing with anxiety and depression. She requested an in-depth evaluation of her medication and entered a medical facility for proper diagnosis and treatment. This is a confidential medical matter and no further statement will be released." Locklear is currently in an in-patient treatment facility in Arizona. It has been reported that she recently switched doctors and her new doctor recommended the evaluation.

In March, in was rumored that Locklear had tried to commit suicide. Paramedics were called to her home by her psychiatrist who feared for the actresses’ life. He told the police that he had spoken with a distraught Locklear and he thought she might overdose on prescription medication. Police quickly responded to the call and when they showed up at Locklear’s home in Thousand Oaks, California they determined that there was no danger. Locklear, 46, claimed that she did not request any assistance and that she was "fine." Locklear’s rep said at the time, "She never requested assistance and did not place the 911 call. Nor did anyone from her house call 911 or place a call requesting medical assistance."

Locklear divorced Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora last year after almost 13 years of marriage. The couple has a 10-year old daughter, Ava. She was previously married to Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee from 1986 to 1993. Locklear is best known for her roles on Dynasty, T.J. Hooker, Melrose Place, and Spin City. She just wrapped filming on a Lifetime movie called Flirting with 40. She is currently dating her Melrose Place co-star Jack Wagner.
