Heather Locklear Arrested

According to Tom Marshall, a spokesperson with the California Highway Patrol, "Around 4:30 p.m., a female witness saw Heather Locklear driving erratically while leaving a parking lot in Montecito. The witness said Locklear was revving her engine loudly, and backed over a pair of sunglasses several times." The witness then saw Locklear’s car stopped on a highway nearby and Locklear getting out onto the shoulder. The witness was reportedly concerned for Locklear’s safety and called the police. Upon their arrival they found Locklear sitting in her car, which was "partially blocking the roadway."

Locklear was reportedly taken to the local police station because she looked "disoriented and impaired." Drug and alcohol tests were administered and she was reportedly found to be cooperative. Marshall said, "Alcohol was ruled out as a factor, but base don the officer’s observations, we believe Locklear was under the influence of prescription medications." She was booked on suspicion of driving under the influence of a controlled substance. She was released around 7 p.m. There has been no comment on the incident from Locklear’s camp.

Her arrest comes only two months after she checked out of a treatment facility in Arizona where she was being treated for anxiety and depression. In March it was rumored that Locklear had tried to commit suicide, but her publicist slammed the rumor. Last year she was divorced from Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora after almost 13 years of marriage. The couple has a 10-year old daughter named Ava. Locklear is best known for her roles on T.J. Hooker, Dynasty, Melrose Place, and Spin City.
