Heath Ledger & Michelle Williams Call it Quits
Actors Heath Ledger and Michelle Williams have reportedly called it quits after a three year relationship and one child.

Ledger, 28, and Williams, 26, met on the set of Brokeback Mountain in 2004 and became a couple shortly thereafter. A source said that the two broke-up a few weeks ago and said that it was an amicable split. There has been no comment from either camp about the alleged split. It was rumored earlier this year that the two had secretly married, but the rumors were never confirmed. Reps for both Ledger and Williams refused to comment on whether or not they made their union legal. Ledger and Williams have a daughter, Matilda Rose, who was born in October 2005 and have been living in Brooklyn for the past few years.
Sources on the set of Brokeback Mountain said that the chemistry between Ledger and Williams was instant. Co-star Jake Gyllenhaal said in an interview with Oprah Winfrey after the film was released, "I remember being at rehearsal and seeing the two of them sort of like googly-eyed looking at each other." Anne Hathaway, another co-star, said, "There were sparks immediately. It was adorable." The two reportedly "merged" their trailers into one shortly after filming began.
Williams has been in London filming the new thriller Incendiary with Ewan McGregor over the past few months. Ledger has been filming The Dark Knight, the next in the Batman series, opposite Christian Bale and Maggie Gyllenhaal. As for their relationship a source close to the couple said, "It was rocky for awhile. They did what they could to make it work." Unfortunately, it just wasn't enough.
