Hearts

As the wind brushed her hair with its gentle touch
While giving her the sweet smell of peace
Her eyes wondered off into a state
Where her soul could be released

As her head laid on the green humid earth
While her feet soaking on the rocky falls
She got one last glimpse of him as he called
For the last time to her she would hear
How sorry in pain that made her feel

As he fell to his knees beside her he cried
He couldn’t believe she was there but has left his side
He tried to get up and carry her away
When he felt a sharp pain pierce his back
As he fell his eyes were hit by the sun’s ray

Blinding him from his fate
He lay beside her holding her hand
Because he realized it would be too late
He drifted off to the same peaceful land
Although the breathing had stopped
The hearts kept beating harmoniously for just a minute
As if reuniting for nothing would ever ruin it.
