Heart's Desire
This is a poem I wrote recently while working on a rather interesting essay. The poem speaks of love and how a man is captured by the subject of his affection.
Shy in posture with a sweetened smile
Eyes of blue that makes all worthwhile
Lips of satin to kiss the skin
To free the soul from the taint of sin
A laugh that sings a thousand rhymes
Hair that falls like golden wine
Against skin that’s feather soft
Warming comfort like a springtime loft
A curious mind that’s bright and strong
A gentle heart despising what’s wrong
Seeking comfort from any harm
As she sings her many charms
This woman holds within her arms
A heart bespelled by her charms
Eyes of blue that makes all worthwhile
Lips of satin to kiss the skin
To free the soul from the taint of sin
A laugh that sings a thousand rhymes
Hair that falls like golden wine
Against skin that’s feather soft
Warming comfort like a springtime loft
A curious mind that’s bright and strong
A gentle heart despising what’s wrong
Seeking comfort from any harm
As she sings her many charms
This woman holds within her arms
A heart bespelled by her charms
