Setting - Lucy's house

[ Lucy & Olivia are sitting on the couch talking. Ebony enters crashing through the door, Valentina follows ]

Lucy ( sarcastically delighted ) : nice to know that you had enough courtesy to knock!
Ebony [ stops, looks at door ] : Oh, .. idc! ( jumps on couch between Lucy & Olivia ) yoo, me and Kalleb has been flirting since the day I asked him for his number !
[ Valentina sits on the floor and turns on the television. She puts the remote down and claps for Ebony ]
[ Lucy & Olivia & Ebony Ooo in excitement ]
Ebony ( sighs romantically ) : to think he never gave me the time of day.
Lucy : see, I told you there's nothing wrong with asking a guy for his number. you gotta take charge!

Ebony : yes [ hugs Lucy warmly ] & I thank you so so so so much ! [ starts at phone with such a happy expression ] finally I can get a guys attention!
Olivia : damn , you sound so damn desperate.
Ebony : shut up Olivia, not everybody is a straight heartthrob like you.
Valentina : [ looking up at Ebony ] yea, you're feeling a little too special because you've been in a relationship for three years straight.
Olivia : what? I don't feel special just because of that.
Ebony : pshh, please, I could remember the days when you were just like me , trying to get your boyfriend's attention. [ puts hand up and moves neck ] Now that you guys are finally together you're all different now.

Valentina : Yea, you act like the love know it all.
Olivia : I don't act like a love know it all !
Ebony : yes you do, watch, this is you. [ stands up on couch and moves neck. ]
( mocking tone ) Damn you sound so desperate. ( sucks teeth ) oh, a boys gonna react this way if you do this so it is best if you do this. ( sucks teeth ) oh, Love doesn't make the world go round. Love is what makes the ride worthwhile. ( sucks teeth )
Lucy : [ interrupts and hits Ebony's calf ] can you get your feet off my coach?
Ebony : wait, I'm being Olivia! ( sucks teeth ) Oh, let nature take its-
Olivia : [ interrupts ] okaay, Ebony we get the point!
Ebony : no ! [ sits back down and gets in Olivia's face ] how come you make love seem like it's not as great as it seems, like it's not something worth looking for, or something that should be desired when you have a perfect relationship yourself?
Lucy : Ebony stop.

Ebony : no, I wanna know.
Lucy : [ trying to pull Ebony out of Olivia's personal space ] Ebony!
Ebony : come on Mrs. I Got The Right Man Therefore I Got It All, tell me.
Valentina : ( distracted ) Ebony you're gonna get the shit slapped out you one day.
Olivia : alright, alright. you wanna know why I make love seem not as great? It's because it isn't. Relationships in real life doesn't match the relationships you see on tv. Those are just fantasies, and fantasies are where us girls today get our false hope.

Love is not a walk in the park, it isn't always sunny, it isn't always fun and games and laughter, and there are most definitely no easy paths through it.
Ebony : yea, yea, yea. you always gotta bring some philosophal analogy in it. can you explain things in a language we all can understand ?
Valentina : ( staring at tv ) speak for yourself.
Ebony : [ pouts and folds arms ] nobody ever takes my side.
Valentina : ( under trans from tv ) we still love you.
Ebony : [ stares at cell phone in hands ] guys I hope this one really works out this time.
Olivia : [ touches Ebony's shoulder ] don't worry Ebony, you'll get Kalleb.
Ebony : Idk, I got this really suspicious feeling like - [ Olivia's cell phone goes off ]
Olivia : hello? [ puts finger up and exits ]
Lucy : like you were saying Ebony ..

Ebony : I just want a boyfriend. Damn.
Lucy : Your day will come, you just gotta be patient.
Ebony : Lucy I been patient since the damn 7th grade. When I got my braces off and my hair tamed. I put the damn proactive to work & my swagg on point & I still don't have anybody!
Lucy : If not sooner than later Ebony.
Ebony : ( a tad bit sad ) I don't know about the quotes you and Olivia throw at me sometimes. you guys repeat them so much but just repeating them isn't gonna make me believe.

Lucy : if you want something to believe in then take a look at me for example, I get someone, I loose them, I wait patiently, one comes faster than I expected.
Valentina : ( focused on tv ) maybe that's just you.
Ebony : ( to Valentina ) then what do you suggest I do?
Valentina : I don't know, I never have to worry about what you go through.
Ebony : that's cause everybody wants you in school.
Lucy : well, the non cornballs.
Ebony : I wish everybody loved me like you Valentina, maybe that's why you're never heartbroken.
[ Valentina hugs her knees and stare at the carpet ]
Ebony : you're so lucky, while you got girls like Lucy over here ALWAYS being heartbroken.

Lucy : ( shrugs shoulders ) ehh, it's okay, it happens. [ Lucy's mother calls ] Brb guys.
[ Lucy exits ]
Valentina : Lucy experiences heartbreak before she even gets into a relationship.
Ebony : what do you mean?
Valentina : haven't you noticed , before she goes out with somebody - no - before she even likes that person she already knows how its gonna end between them. and she's ALWAYS right.
Ebony : then why does she even bother?
Valentina : ( shrugs shoulders ) I don't know. that's one logic nobody will meet eye to eye with Lucy.
Ebony : [ looking back at the stairs Lucy ran up ] Lets hope she's not right about Ian.
Valentina : I'm a hundred percent sure that she is.

O1; O2

[ setting - Lucy's porch, snow is falling. Its nighttime. ]

Olivia : Hey baby.
Lamar : ( depressed ) hey..
Olivia : what's wrong babe?
Lamar :Olivia ... don't call me babe anymore.
Olivia : what! baby, what's going on?
Lamar :Olivia , we're not working out. we're still falling ..
Olivia : ( confused ) babe, where is this coming from.
Lamar : [ sniffles ] it's not helping. I was right, I do need to let you go.
Olivia : Lamar, wait, whatever this is about I'm sure we can fix this.
Lamar : how? Olivia, we're getting more and more distant everyday, & it's not like we're far enough since I'm in college. I thought this was gonna work out but I was wrong. You know I'm right.
Olivia: [ coughs & shivers ] & what does that have to do with anything.
Lamar : ( stern ) Olivia, you know I'm right.
Olivia : [ trembling voice ] yes, you are. if that's the way you want it to be, I'm not gonna argue. just always remember that I love you Lamar. G - [ sniffles ] G - ( whimper ) g- [ breathes hard to suck up the tears. keeps back straight and head high ]

Gooddbye. [ hangs up, then bursts into tears.

Walks into the house and grabs jacket and car keys. ]
Ebony : what happened?
[ Lucy comes down the stairs with a plate of cookies. she halts, noticing that there's something wrong with Olivia. Olivia doesn't stop to answer. She grabs her things and just leaves with eyes full of tears. ]
Lucy : ( disappointed ) and this was supposed to be a fun day guys ..
Valentina : maybe you scheduled wrong. [ Cell phone goes off, takes a look. Gets up, grabs coat ] I gotta go guys. Thanks for having me over Lucy. [ Exits ]
Ebony : damn, just like that.
Lucy : I guess its me and you Ebony.
Ebony : I guess. [ staring at cell phone ]
Lucy : you need to put that thing down. he's gonna text you sooner or later. Regardless, you're gonna get a text, in the meantime, enjoy this day with me.

[ end O2 ]

O2; O1

[ setting - a week later on a Saturday. Lucy, Ebony, Valentina, & Olivia decide to go out together. They go to the mall ]

Lucy : Olivia, sorry to hear what happened.
Olivia : I don't even wanna talk about it.
Ebony : but he broke up with you for no reason, if it was me I'd be complaining.
Valentina : you complain twenty-four seven Ebony.
Olivia : [ covers ears, squeeze eyelids closed ] listen girls, I came here to have fun & keep my mind off what happened. can we not talk about this, especially if we're in public, because if I think about it one more time I'm gonna blow.
[ They walk into a store ]
Ebony : [ leans on the racket of clothes Olivia is looking through. Lucy goes and fiddles with one of the mannequins ] aww, now we don't have an exciting relationship to intrude.
Valentina : There's always Lucy's. [ drifts to the underwear section ].
Lucy : [ looks up with a confound expression ] chill, me and Ian haven't even been together for that long.
Olivia : [ drops clothing, stares outside window ] ( in awe ) look ..
Lucy, Ebony & Valentina : [ turns to look outside ] ohh noo ...

[ Lamar is seen walking outside a store with Rosemarie. Rosemarie kisses Lamar and runs to the next, store. Lamar, stares at Rosemarie with a bleak expression ]
Olivia : [ walks outside the store to Lamar ] [ points at Rosemarie ] is this why you broke up with me?
Lamar : ( surprised ) Olivia ..
Olivia : [ eyes begin to water ] is it?
Lamar : Olivia, she's ..
Olivia : [ a tear falls ] I saw you with her! don't lie to me .. [ wipes tear with sleeve ]
Lamar : you're not even letting me speak.
Olivia : [ refraining herself from raising voice ] I don't care what you have to say, I just want an answer to my damn question.
Lamar : .. not .. really.
Olivia : [ whimpers then looks away. ] you know you never gave me a real explanation on why you broke up with me. until you find your alaby, [ points to head ] I'm gonna keep thinking that [ points at Rosemarie ] she's the reason why we're not together. [ walks away]

Lamar : [ grabs Olivia by the shoulder ] Olivia wait!
Olivia : [ lifts arm to get his hand off ] DON'T touch me. [ sobs as she walks back into the store ]
Ebony : ( sympathetic ) oh my god, Olivia [ opens arms up and hugs Olivia ] what happened.
Olivia : [ sniffles, talks with a stuffy nose ] [ exhales ] don't worry about it, guys, I- I - I don't wanna be here anymore. I'm gonna go home now. [ exits ]
[ Lucy shoots Lamar a dirty look from afar. Lamar sees. ]
Ebony : ( disappointed ) once again, the day is ruined.
Valentina : [ walks up with a bag in her hand ] what happened ..
Lucy : Olivia went home again.
Valentina : because of Lamar.
Ebony : yea.
Valentina : umphh. we're off to the food court?
Ebony : well aren't we quite sympathetic?
[ Valentina glares at Ebony ]
Ebony : [ shrugs shoulders ] what? You're so monotone, its hard to tell.

[ they go to the food court ]
