HeartBeat Ch-4
Hello readers, thank you so much for your suggestions. It really helped. Hear is chapter 4 which is in continuity of chp 3. This chapter is for building the mood for chpter 5, which will be posted very soon. Please comment. Suggestions are welcome.
"Only two months"
The doorbell rang at 7:30 pm and Minal opened the door for her mom. Both smiled at each other knowing very well the reason behind that extra grin.
"Hi Mom"
"Hi dear"
After giving refreshments to mom, Minal quietly went to her room. She knew what her parents were about to discuss and she didn’t wanted to sit there and keep on blushing in front of her parents. It would be so embarrassing.
To distract her attention from her parent’s discussion she decided to play games on the computer.
By 8:30pm Minal announced that the dinner was ready.
"I will call Sameer tomorrow." dad said while he eat. Sameer was Mrs. Seth’s younger brother and Minal’s favorite uncle.
"Don’t give him any details on the phone." said mom. "Also remind him to keep all this with himself as yet." Added mom
"Ok."
Minal didn’t look up at the entire conversation, she knew the topic they were discussing and kept listening.
Later that night mom came to Minal’s room and without wasting any time she directly started the conversation.
"Did you see his photo?" mom asked
"No" replied Minal.
"Here, go through his biodata as well." said mom handing the envelop.
Slowly Minal opened the envelop and removed his photo. OH MY GOD. She was looking at a handsome guy with fair complexion and black hairs, which made him an attractive person. Soft black eyes and a sweet smile on his face made him look amazing. He looked as if he was not a serious type of a guy, for which Minal felt a bit relieved.
"Isnt he good looking." Popped her mom.
"Yes." Replied Minal, not removing her gaze from the photo.
After going to his biodata Minal felt a bit awkward.
"Mom, how came he is not married till now, even though he is good looking and has a secure future." Ventured Minal.
"Well, Mrs. Roy said he had seen many girls but he didn’t liked any. His parents are more than happy that he has finally chosen someone and that’s why they want to hurry up before he changes his mind."
"Hurry up????"
"Yes, Mrs. Roy said they want the marriage to take place within a month or two."
"So Soon??? But mom…."
"What?"
"Nothing."
"Sweetheart, we all knew this was going to happen sooner or later. Dear, all we want is you to be happy and that’s just what this guy will do."
Minal just kept listening, her eyes on the floor.
"Don’t worry dear, I wont take any decisions unless I am satisfied. We just wanted to know if you are ok with it, do you want us to go further or not."
"I have no objections." Said Minal as if she had any choice or some boyfriend with whom she had intended to run away.
"Good. Now your dad will call uncle Sameer tomorrow to discuss for further step." Said mom
"Minal??"
"Yes, mom?" said Minal snapping out of her thoughts.
"What happened? Do you want us to cancel this….."
"No, no mom, I was just thinking… what if he is not like he looks, I mean, remember that guy you once told me about, that he liked a girl and to marry her he pretended to be the perfect suitable guy, and after marriage he was a monster." Said Minal, remembering something told to her long ago.
"Clam down sweetheart, nothing like that is going to happen to you, that’s the reason we are going to enquire about him."
She hugged Minal "I won’t let anything happen to my princess. Now go to sleep and leave everything to me, ok?"
Minal nodded and prepared to sleep.
As Mrs. Seth left Minal’s room, she thought about what Minal had said, "No, I am not taking any decisions unless I am satisfied. Please God help me and my child."
In her Minal was also praying, "Dear God, I know I have made mistakes in my life, knowingly and unknowingly. I am truly sorry for those mistakes and promise you, never to repeat it again. Please God help me at this critical point of my life, please be on my support, please make everything go well. My future is in your hands."
