Hearing Light: END/Epilogue

"Vincent!" I called him. He turned from his position in the hallway. His arm was in a red cast and he smiled. I ran up to him and hugged him, "You're alright!"

Vincent looked at himself sadly, "No...the doctor said I have only 4 weeks to live..."

I stopped hugging him and my heart stopped. I felt his chest rise and fall quickly, as if he were coughing. I looked up at his face that was holding back a smile. He began laughing as I pulled away from him.

"Vincent you turd! You scared me half to death!" I shouted as I hit him. He simply laughed and put his not broken arm on his locker.
"You actually believed me?" he laughed, "I just had my arm broken, I won't die, smart."

I looked at him with my lips puckered inward and my eyes narrowed. He bent down and pecked me lightly on the lips.
"You know you love me." He said lovingly. I shook my head and looked at him, "Sometimes I wonder why. " I smiled. He grinned before his ear was grabbed.

"Ow!" He yelped. Mrs. Black grabbed his ear and dragged him down the hallway, "No public displays of affection at school Mr. Leon." She said. Vincent looked at me and made a fake sad face, "Help meee~!" he pleaded silently to me. I simply laughed as he was pulled around the corner.

As he was pulled around the corner, a group of people came around the corner. "Hey Anair!" I shouted to her. She quickly ran towards me and hugged me, "Hey girly! You okay? That was FREAKY last Saturday! I told Lawrence if you don't mind..."

I laughed, "I don't care, and it's a top story on the news right now anyway. Vincent is a hero now, and he's my hero, kinda."
"Your hero that was dragged away by an unhappy Mrs. Black?" Charlie piped in. I laughed, "Yeah, some guy huh?" We all laughed together. The bell rang and people began to rush towards their classrooms.

"Hey," Anair began as she brushed a piece of blonde (or brown with a lot of blond highlights) hair out of her face, "Whatever happened to Quinn?"

I looked down at the tile and sighed, "They never found him. His home was abandon and no one was there. All the furniture was gone, everything. Except..."

"Except?" Anair asked. I looked up at her.

"A note. It said something that made me feel different..."

I pulled the note out of my binder and gave it to Anair.

Hey, Naomi. I'm sorry I caused all this trouble for you. I knew about Christopher and the 'Killer's Kiss' I was just too afraid I would lose you. You won't ever see me again, cause I have to hide. My brother's killing spree led me to be a prime suspect for assisting him. I can't risk that...I'm sorry.

She looked at the note and her mouth widened into a shocked form and she looked at me.

"Aw, Naomi...you'll be fine! I'm sure of it...you have Vincent, he's way better than that psychos brother." I laughed, "Yeah...you're probably right. I'm going to be brave and work this all out."

"Girls! Get to class!" Mr. Sanchez shouted from his classroom.
We laughed and all walking, stride for stride, into our classroom where another normal day would await us. I crumpled up the note and threw it into the trash can in front of class. This may sound crazy, but I think I'll miss how crazy my life's been so far. But who knows, maybe the craziness has just begun. Like what Lorenzo said, "Crazy times are the ones we will remember for the rest of our lives." And that was exactly what I am going to do.
